Since no one has started a thread about how the Frisco Giants did last night...
The Cincinnati Reds scored FIVE runs in the top of the ninth and then shut the Giants down in the bottom of the ninth to take the first of three by a score of 10-5.

3. Be happy, my friend! The Natinals won their sixth straight game last night.
Maybe they'll overtake the Pirates by the end of the year.

2. 5 Errors??
I thought they were supposed to be the best defensive team.

At least that's what I keep seeing in this forum.

That fat panda kid really blew it in the 9th

4. The Panda isn't "fat"
Edited on Sat Aug-08-09 09:28 AM by Upton
but since you're in the mood to throw around insults...how much do you weigh?

BTW, no one ever said the Giants were the "best" defensive team, but even with their 5 errors last night, they still rank 5th in the NL with 58 errors, well ahead of the Marlins 11th and 68.

5. It was just one of those games..no team is immune
Lincecum leaves after giving up 2ER in 7 innings and the Giants have a 2 run lead...the Reds, in the 8th and 9th, then proceed to score 7 runs on 3 hits, thanks to 5 walks, 2 errors and a WP. Heck they scored 5 in the 9th and only hit the ball out of the infield once.

The whole team imploded...hopefully they have this out of their system and can go forward from here.

6. I saw the score, and remembered Lincecum had started.
The bullpen imploded?

7. Yep..though to be fair
of the 7 runs the bullpen gave up, only 3 were earned...

8. That makes it even more painful. It makes it really difficult when you give the other
team 32 outs.

9. I don't care.
The Rockies won and gained a game on the Dodgers and are now just 6 1/2 back in the West.

Had to get the news on the internets and not in the paper because that game in LA went so late.

10. Still pretending
you don't care about the Wild Card? As I'm sure you're aware, it's doubtful the Giants or the Rockies are going to catch the Dodgers....the only way in is the WC, you check how the Giants do everyday.

Oh, who's that big hick on the Rockies telecast wearing a cowboy hat?

11. Was he on the MLB Network?
I thought that Baseball Hall of Fame Reporter (J. G. Taylor Spink Award) Tracy Ringolsby only worked on FSN Rocky Mountain. He lost his "day job" when The Rocky Mountain News folded.

14. Do you get FSNRM instead of the Giants network?
I suppose you might, living in Washington.

Now, if you were a Mariner's fan, we'd have something in common.

15. I've got MLB Extra Innings
Edited on Sat Aug-08-09 08:52 PM by Upton
so I get all the networks....I'm in Mariners territory so if I didn't pay for EI, I'd only have FSNW.

And I do like the Mariners, they're my favorite AL team.

16. They are my third favorite Al team.
After the A's and the Royals.

The Roid Sox have lost my support, especially after Big Papi's display today.

Now, if the Rangers rid themselves of Tom Hicks and The Shrub stays away, they could move up a lot in my favoritism like they used to be when I lived in Arlington. Even if Nolan Ryan is a Repuke, I would enthusiastically support his ownership.

It's OK for you to be a Mariner's fan but I can't be an A's fan? Unbelievable chutzpah.
