6. Hmmmm. I thought about them, and I was like .. as much as I hate losing to
Georgia, I can't say I loathe them.

Same thing with Auburn.

But....

Florida? Yea, I loathe them.

Alabama? Yea, I loathe them.

And if we didn't dominate Vandy and Kentucky the way we have over the years .. those two schools would be on the "loathe list" also. HA.

It is immoral to lose to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Washington Redskins take a close second. When the Cowboys and Redskins play, it's a real shame that they can't both lose.

31. Cal is my second favorite after USC
I'm an atheist and I hate all catholic schools. After what Cal did to their rival Stanford that one year with the five laterals, I was a Cal fan for life. I don't care if they're in the same conference as USC, they're not usually competing for the conference title at the same time so there's no real conflict, but when they play each other I root for USC.

I even cheered for the evil Green Bay Packers back when they met the Cowpies every year in the playoffs, only to lose to them EVERY SINGLE TIME. Stupid Packers.

Yankees though, I'll cheer for them now but only when they play the Red Sox, to knock the insufferable Boston fans down a peg.

Miami doesn't get my white-hot fires of hatred burning, but the Gators sure do.

And I would never root for the Dallas Cowboys.

As for the Vols, being a Crimson Tide fan, I'd rather root for Auburn than the big orange machine with Lame Kitten. :puke:

Edited to add: USC Trojans. They get overhyped every year. ESPN does everything but give Pete Carroll a bj on live television. Then they lose to a Stanford or some such team and the idiots at ESPN still worship them: "They are truly the best one-loss team and should play for the NC!" If they lose another game, then you still here them drone on: "They are the best two-loss team and should still play for the NC!" Disgusting.

45. Sometimes you need your hated rivals to win.
For example, if the Eagles getting homefield advantage in the playoffs comes down to needing the Cowboys to beat the Bears I'm going to root for the Cowboys in that game regardless of how much I hate them. Sometimes circumstances force you into that position. Ultimately I want what's best for my team and if it requires me having to root for someone I hate to get best possible outcome then that's what's going to happen.

Edited on Tue Jul-28-09 02:56 PM by hughee99
In the last year, I've found myself rooting for the Yankees against the Rays (because it helped the Sox) and the Jets against the Dolphins (because it helped the Pats). The Mets are in a different league, so I can't see any reason I'd ever root for them, and I just plain don't like the 'Canes, but if it helped Boston College, I'd probably root for them too. The same for the Lakers if it helped the Celtics.

And yet, I'm a Royals fan and spent 10 years living in Kansas City.

When we beat them in the playoffs in 1998 to go on to Pittsburgh and eventually to defeat Green Bay in the Super Bowl, that was sweet.
