Chokers SHUTOUT by the Nationals 4-0
John Lannan threw a complete game 7 hitter. To put this into perspective, Washington is 29th in MLB in ERA and has only one other shutout all year.

3. Chokers have now been shutout 5 times in their last 13 games
and overall have been blanked 9 times this year, tying for the ML lead.

That's just pathetic..you would think an "All Star" like David Wright would muscle up and hit a HR once in awhile, but for some strange reason he only has warning track power this year.

5. He didn't homer tonight because the game was at Citi Field.
Oh wait, it wasn't.

The Chokers now fall to six games below .500 as they maintain their second to last place position in the standings.

Before long, they will have to start looking over their shoulder at Washington, if they haven't already started.

You liked it enough to use it.

I think Crankboy might be mocking you, and if I were you I wouldn't take it.

12. I doubt it
those quotes are taken out of context, but even if I give you that, only 2 of them are related to MLB...

The first is about the Cubs, I don't see the connection to the Giants...and the second, was when I was talking about the All Star game, for I worry like many fans that injuries might occur in what is basically an exhibition game.

Keep looking until you find a quote where I use injuries as an excuse for the Giants' poor play, then you can jump up and down and point out the outrageous hypocrisy of it all, but until then...you FAIL.

16. No, they aren't of context at all. Did Princess tell you to say that while snuggling?

It's like this, Chumley. You used injuries as excuses for teams not doing well in multiple sports. When someone else does it, you two shit for brains say it's an excuse. Like anyone here buys your "context".

Saying I fail doesn't make it so. :hi:

Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 09:39 PM by Forkboy
Why do you worry about an injury to Lincecum if injuries are just an excuse? And isn't he a Giant? Why, I do believe he is.

It was fun feeding you the fishing line and having you demand a quote related to the Giants when one was already there.

oh, you can dance around, I'll give you credit, you're good at that, but you have yet to find me a quote where I blame injuries, inthebrain style, for the Giants poor play.

You've looked...where are all the examples of my blatant hypocrisy?

35. Nice Hannity like moving of the goalposts. Again.
I like you add the qualifiers "inthebrain style" and "blatant". Now your hypocrisy is excused because it isn't blatant enough.

I also like how you don't really argue the other quotes, just demand a quote related to the Giants. Why doesn't the Sharks quote count? It is the team you root for, isn't it? You did use injuries as a reason they might not win, did you not?

Face it, Upton, you've used injuries as an excuse for teams not performing well while ragging on others for doing the same. Your own dancing doesn't change that.

38. I gotta say this
In the case of Rob Blake.

When ever you are worried about a player of the caliber going down you are in trouble.

If we were looking at an equivalent to the Mets that's like me entering the post season with Beltran, Delgado and Reyes healthy worried about Sheffeild going down.

4. Can you tell me who said these quotes?
"I know they haven't been playing that well the last few weeks and have been beset by injuries(Goc and Blake went down yesterday) but they seem to be coming out of their funk and most of their players should be back by the playoffs."

"I know the Cubs are having trouble scoring runs and have been beset by injuries but they're still only 4 games back."

"I worry about injuries."

"We'll see if they can get past that second round jinx when the playoffs start, but barring injury I'm thinking Stanley Cup."

"After blowing a two goal lead today, and coupled with the injury to Fabregas exposing more of what was already a weak middle, I'm starting to worry about Arsenal's chances of finishing in the top four."

in 57 starts, both having come against the Chokers, and this was his first ever shutout. His career record isn't bad..18-24, considering the type of team he plays for, and his ERA is a bit better than average at 3.74.

However, if it wasn't for the Mets, Lannan wouldn't have much in the way of highlights.
