The Contender

Why is Slyvester Stallone one of the hosts of The Contender? I know he did the five Rocky movies, but he is not a real boxer. Did Stallone even get hit in the Rocky movies? I do not see any reason to have hin as one of the hosts of the show. The producers should have gotten someone like Roy Jones Jr. to be the second host.

Unfortunately there just aren't that many incredibly famous and presentable boxers around these days who would be willing to do such a show.

5. Have you ever watched boxing on HBO?

George Foreman used to be one of the commentators and he routinely said some of the most wtf things I've ever heard.

Example:
Other than the two fighters the ref will be the most important man in the ring tonight.

Or when a boxers would enter the ring sweaty from warming up George would say they were "nice and juicy" like he was talking about a cheeseburger.

Back when he also did his porno movies.

At any rate, Roy Jones, Jr.? After he punked out in his last fight? No way. Oscar de la Hoya would be a good choice, but he got pegged for Fox's subpar knockoff. Other than that, articulate boxers (whom the public has heard of) are few and far between. The problem is that the public, as a whole, really only follows heavyweight boxing, which is a joke these days.

As for the show, was anyone else happy as hell to see that loudmouth little shit Ahmed taken out?
