Tiger Woods needs to give Goex golf shoes the boot
Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 10:22 AM by rocktivity
Okay, here's the deal: I'm on a bus on Madison Avenue in New York City. At 56th Street, I pass a store called Geox--Shoes That Breathe. They have several vertical banners in their window. One shows the back of a slim-waisted golfer in a red shirt, black pants and black cap swinging a swinging a club. His arms are dark and of course, the sole of his Geox golf shoes are visible.

I bring this up because I remember a car commercial that featured what I thought was a Bette Midler song. A few months later, I read that the car company had asked Midler if they could use the song, but she refused, so they went and hired a "sing-alike." Midler sued--AND WON!!!

Now, in the time it took me to pass that banner on a bus, I definitely got the impression that I was supposed to believe that Tiger wears Geox. I guess they believe they're doing nothing wrong because they don't show Tiger's face or use his name. But I figure that if Bette Midler had a case, Tiger sure does!
