baseball has (at least) one Democratic player....
"in my previous incarnation as a baseball writer, a clubhouse poll once revealed 24 Republicans and one Democrat (Gabe Kapler) on the Red Sox."

Kapler is now with the Rays (and has been on a hot streak as of late)

2. There were a bunch of the Rays at an Obama rally in Tampa last year.
Fernando Perez, Edwin Jackson (now with the Tigers) Johnny Gomes and 3 or 4 more that I can't remember.

3. There was an article many years ago about how many of the Sox were fundies.

Schilling, Wakefield, Varitek (homewrecker cheated on his wife). I loved Gabe Kapler when he played for Boston. He seemed a lot smarter than the average ball player-and he was HOT!

I wonder if the Latino players were included in the Republican mix?

5. In 2004, Pedro and a couple of the other players didn't head to the White House
to be honored by Bush...said they had "other commitments".

7. He was a headcase, but I miss him...still mad at him for that cockfighting, though.
