Ted Haggard doesn't like 'Jesus Camp'
Fire, brimstone around "Jesus" film
By Eric Gorski
Denver Post Staff Writer

The directors of "Jesus Camp," a buzz-generating documentary about evangelical Christian children training to be soldiers for God, proclaim no agenda other than to start a conversation about belief, politics and the culture wars.

But the most prominent evangelical to appear in the film, the Rev. Ted Haggard of Colorado Springs, has disowned it on the eve of its limited release, saying the filmmakers cast their subjects in a sinister light and misrepresented evangelicalism.

(snip)

Haggard was upset with his cameo, in which he jokingly says "repent" to the camera and declares that evangelicals determine elections when they vote.

In an e-mail, he called the film yellow journalism, with "a strong agenda like any Michael Moore film with the cinematography of 'The Blair Witch Project.'"

2. krishtun
Rosie Odonnel said it right the other day about Krishtianity...............

I dont like any religion, and I dont need to hide behind that, or have a religion
to tell me what to do or what to eat.
Why cant people just believe in GOD, and GOD only and get rid of organised religion
the World would be a safer place............

8. I don't like Ted Haggard
I consider his evangelical politico-theology to be "yellow superstition" with a "strong agenda like 'the Inquisition' and the sophistication of a '1st century fourth-generation copy of an ancient fable' about the crops dying and rising every year".

Oh, wait, Haggards religion is not LIKE those things - it IS those things.

9. It was covered on a short piece on Sunday ABC evening news. They
seemed to take both sides on it. I need to find the schedule around W. PA.
