Imagine that God decides to write a Harlequin Romance novel
Some benefits:

1. God will be able to cross it off the list of things to try and experiences to have experienced

2. God will be able to include some in-jokes that only God will understand. The joke would be on us.

3. God will have earned some money to give to a good cause and the money will have been really earned and not just obtained by means of magic.

Suppose the book is good by Harlequin Romance standards, but not particularly good in the eyes of an ordinary human being who wasn't told who wrote the book.

If among God's writings were a Harlequin Romance novel, then would "God also wrote THIS book" -- even if believed -- be a good sales pitch?

3. God could never write romance novels
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 08:51 PM by MissWaverly
There is always some sort of abuse in those books, which leads to a total rejection then
joyous getting back together again and then the big marriage/happy ending. What is often portrayed in those books as love is really abuse.

Correction made, thanks for the tip!

:-)

6. one of the readings this past Sunday was from the Song of Solomon
you want to talk about sexy!

I'd say that the romance writers could take a few lessons from this book of the Bible

7. I'm told that
evangelist Tommy Tenney won an award for tomance writer of the year for his book Hadassah which tells the story of Esther. I guess it is the next fundie film scheduled to be released.

Something about this makes me very sick.....

8. I for one would line up in a driving torrent to buy a copy.
"New from the inspirer of the best-selling Judeo-Christian Bible comes a new blockbuster:

Cosmic Love Hound

by GOD.

A bodice-ripping tour-de-force like none you've ever experienced."

--and the book tour alone, I predict, would be well-attended.
