He met Jesus at Wal-Mart
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 10:16 AM by r_u_stuck2
I was going to post in LBN, but didn't know if it would fit.

His spiritual awakening came in 1992, when Thompson says he met Jesus at the Wal-Mart.

That August on a hot Saturday, Thompson passed a long-haired, homeless-looking man outside the Arboretum Wal-Mart and felt an urge to help. Inside, he bought some soda and tucked his change -- $13 -- in the bag. When he came out, the man was gone. After a futile search, he left the bag by the door.

A few days later, still unsettled by the encounter, Thompson popped a cassette into his car stereo. It was a sermon about a banker. God was calling the young man to give all he could.

Thompson broke down crying in his car. "I want you to be the Lord of my life," he recalls thinking. He decided that he and his wife had things out of balance.

I am trying to figure out if the long haired homeless man was Jesus. Any thoughts on that. If not him, who did this guy meet?

1. He met my cousin Ralph
My cousin Ralph plays that whole Jesus bit for laughs at Walmart all the time.

He's a real character.

2. Sounds like it was just some guy, and the subject of our article...
is a nut-job. First of all, Jesus ain't a Wal-Mart kind of dude. Second, blind faith will make you see lots of shit that isn't there (so will drugs.) Notice how he decided this for himself AND his wife?

7. There are billions of people in the world
All interacting and bumping into each other all the time. I would be amazed if such encounters did not take place.

9. AZ, I just love your posts. The voice of reason! Thanks
I always wonder why people jump to conclusions without just using common sense to figure things out. I guess it's more exciting to embellish things. However, I find things in life to excite me without it.
