RW churches and the law question
I was kicking around this idea this morning . Please note this is not an attack on the people in the pews or the left christians on this page. It is merely an attempt at putting the right wing in it's place.
With that said I was wondering if the focus on t he family, or the BC council in particular, and the PL movement in general can be sued for Practicing Medicine Without a License?
I mean if you really think about it thats what they are doing. They tell us what surgery is moral, try to define scientific parameters, and make life or death decisions for the rest of us.
So inconclusion I was wondering if we can file a class action lawsuit or am I watching way too much Boston Legal? Also I want to remind ayone that am not trying single out any particular faith here. Unfortunately the Bishop's Council is a legislative body.

1. The reality?
No.

To practice medicine, you have to have a doctor patient relationship. It would be very, very difficult to establish such a relationship existed just because of a radio show or commericial.

That being said, this is a state issue, and there maybe some states that are more liberal in their definitions.

3. Pharmacists?
Could they be sued for practicing medicine without a license when they refuse to dispense birth controls pills, pain, or mood stabilizer meds?

5. Would they even care?
No. The rightwingnuts can't get past women enjoying themselves in a sexual way if they didn't have to worry about getting pregnant. And if they aren't married... horrors..., then should not be enjoying, let alone having sex.
To them, there is no other use for birth control except to keep from getting pregnant.
