Perry Ad Blasts Gays In The Military, ‘Children Forbidden To Celebrate Christmas’
"“As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion, and I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again. I’m Rick Perry and I approve this message.”

Video and story here

Obama's "WAR" on religion? Is this another undeclared war we are now engaged in? Oh wait, it involves our troops, but it involves having some of those troops being openly gay!!!! THAT war!

This is the kind of damage religion can do to a simple-minded person with fantasies of power and control.

The proper translation of Perry's words "Help me get that uppity niggra out of the White House."

1. Oh for the love of...
Perry is desperate for the wing-nutters. He's giving it all he's got. Amazingly stupid. Yep, this will attract the wing-nutters, alright.

3. I hear that in Texas and in Iowa and in South Carolina there are tens of..
thousands who have similar views and religious beliefs.

The Governor of Texas has no credible domestic economic policy, nor any credible foreign policy, nothing to offer the voters of the USA as a credible Presidential candidate. All he has is his religion, which has somehow convinced him that running for President has something to do with Christmas and children.

His religion, obviously, also has taught him that equality and fair treatment of the men and women who put their lives on the line is not a concept to be respected. And for those that excuse this kind of religious thinking or think Perry is the rare exception, please get the heads out of the sand. This kind of Cancer on Christianity and upon our nation is growing, year by year, a Cancer of twisted priorities, when people run for President to defend Christmas for children, NOT to solve any of the major issues we humans face in our nation and our world.

8. Yes, you are correct
And again, as you stated, there's absolutely no substance to this. He is void of any real ideas, probably because, yes, he's a stupid, stupid man.

4. not that he has a chance, BUT
if we're realy lucky all his supporters will just stay home and PRAY for him to get elected instead of actually voting and we'll see the power of wishful thinking in action.

6. His supporters may be stupid, but they are not THAT stupid.
They know that they have to get out and vote, because they are told that in their Mega churches on the Sunday before.

5. Religion
I wish God and Religion would just disappear completely out of my sight, hearing, and life forever.
Over 60 plus years of God and religion's,bloodshed, intolerance, hatred,Bullying and arrogance is driving me up the walls.
It does not bode well for America or mankind when we have leaders like these elected to any kind of office.
Looks like our GOP overdosed on God and religion candidates want to turn America into the Christian equivalent to the Muslim Islamic extremist.
Actually God and religion, has instead of making mankind more loving and tolerant of each other, has had the complete opposite effect and is threatening our existence every day

rationality, and more Americans who love keeping our government secular, (many more than the number of believers who see nothing at all wrong with mixing the Christian religion right into our government, just like mixing eggs into cake batter.)

There's nothing any guy in the sky is doing to control or moderate this growing Cancer of religious fundamentalism. Thanking your fellow American voters is a much more appropriate group of folks to thank for Perry's poor chances.

12. What is "ironic and silly" about Rick Perry contributors and supporters?
Edited on Wed Dec-07-11 03:18 PM by MarkCharles
I find them disgusting and not worthy of retching over, more worthy of offering them a nation free of secular laws, I have a few at the top of my list.........Iran....Vatican City, (also known as "the holy sea"....

should I go on?

13. What a whiny liar he is
If heterosexual people are allowed to serve openly in the military there's no reason gay people shouldn't be.

Since when aren't children allowed to pray or celebrate their holidays in school? Nobody gives a damn if some kid wants to bow his head at his desk or say "Merry Christmas" to a friend. What Rick Perry wants is the special right of state-sanctioned Christian prayer foisted on everyone by the school administration. He wants schools to officially celebrate his holiday (baby Jesus in a creche) while ignoring the rest.

14. Religion?
So...he's fighting for Hindus? And Muslims? And Sikhs and Buddhists and Jains?

All that notwithstanding, when he spewed his homophobic and subsequently ill-informed nonsense out of his facial asshole, I thought it was some incredible Rick Perry lookalike, because no one would honestly say that shit and believe it, would they?
