Fischer Wonders How Many Men Died Of AIDS Because Of Barney Frank
"On Monday, Massachusetts congressman Barney Frank announced that he will not seek reelection next year, and American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer decided to celebrate Frank’s retirement by attacking the congressman for being gay. On Focal Point yesterday, Fischer claimed that Frank may have used his prominent position to “influence” other men into becoming gay who may have later contracted AIDS. “This is a dangerous, risky, immoral, unhealthy lifestyle, and Barney Frank has been an open practitioner of a lifestyle that is condemning one young man after another to an early grave,” Fischer said, “this is not somebody to admire, this is not somebody to honor.” Fischer went on to say that Frank “modeled a lifestyle which is really a death-style,” wondering, “Who knows how many people were drawn or encouraged in some way by Barney Frank’s example to dabble in a lifestyle that eventually cost them their health and maybe even cost them their lives.”"

1. Bryan Fischer is an asshole!
Barney Frank is one of the finest living Americans in public life.

2. I agree. But Fischer has a daily radio show listened to by millions
around the English speaking world, and sold over the internet to those without a radio machine to hear him live.

Christians like Fischer are really dangerous people.

5. Are you from his district in Mass? Lucky you for the last 30 yrs!
I don't think there's a smarter man, (maybe a woman is, I don't know) in the House.

I hope folks work to keep the evil Repubs out of his seat, unlike Brown taking Kennedy's in the Senate, what a disgrace that is!

6. No, I am not--but I've given money to him anyway. I think he is one
of the finest, smartest, sharpest --and wittiest-- legislators to go to DC in a long, long time. He's on my Top Ten.

I'm rooting for Elizabeth Warren to kick Brownie's ass--here's hoping. She's doing very well up to this point.

8. Warren would be my pick, too if I voted there...she's way cool,
she might even be an atheist, so logical a mind, and so many analytical skills, she must have thought about it, and she's from a working class family.

9. I'm sure they'll figure out some way to collect donations from his announcement.
All they need is a headline involving sex, gays, abortion, leaving God out of a sentence...on and on and on. Then, they hit the Net and the dummies in the party throw them more funds to fight these awful, Godless creatures of the "Democrat" Party.

10. I ask the question........
How many people have voted against their own interests and those of their families as a result of Bryan Fischer's hateful, misguided and untruthful rants? As a gay man I resent Mr. Fisher's assertion that Mr. Frank had infected others by AIDS. First of all, to my knowledge, Mr. Frank is HIV-negative but even if he were positive....he know this and I'm sure he is taking precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.

How dare this hateful bastard make such a baseless statement...oh wait...this is the mantra of the stupid right wing neo-idiots.

11. Bigots like Bryan Fischer keep perpetuating the notion that gay people "recruit"
But which group sends "missionaries" around the world to spread their ideology? Which one has people going door-to-door asking you to join them? Which one has an entire organization dedicated to handing out little books to school children and distributing them to hotels across the nation? Which one has "youth pastors", "youth outreach" divisions and other such things? It sure isn't the gay people.

Of course we're going to get replies on this thread about how Bryan Fischer is a fringe extremist with no influence and that he doesn't reflect what's really going on Christianity. But Bryan Fischer is part of the American Family Association, a very visible, vocal and powerful anti-gay group. They and their accomplices have funded and pushed the propaganda for anti-gay legislation across the nation. Propaganda like "Barney Frank lured your children into trying homosexuality and getting AIDS", is just one of the more vulgar pieces of dreck they've come up with lately.

12. Isn't that what the psychologists call "reaction formation"? "projection"? you know?... like;;;
looking in the "recruiting" mirrors and projecting their own reality upon the opposite?

I'm 30-50 years out of freshman psych, but I see this all the time..................please help, "projection" or "reaction formation" or a combination of the two?

Yeah, I'm not as forgetful as all that, but I'd love to see people think about this for a few minutes and reply.

15. And all done by the intellectually putrid license called "Christianity" which enables all these...
slime to perpetuate such trash upon unsuspecting, poor yet hopeful Americans. People pay $5 for this shit just like they pay $1 for a lottery ticket. People all want to be living in the promised land like these preachers live in.

16. For years I have wondered how many died of AIDS because of Ronald Reagan.
Hundreds of thousands at least, I would imagine.
