...that atheist would be the only problem. If you think a Muslims candidate or a pagan candidate or any other candidate that isn't of the traditional Judae-Christian makeup wouldn't have serious problems, then I'm not sure which America you are living in.

In the UK we have had some obviously atheist leaders, and many more who were so indifferent to or silent about religion that no one really knows what they were (e.g. to this day there are debates about whether Winston Churchill was Christian, atheist, agnostic, etc.) At the moment, two of the three main party leaders are atheists.

There is more religious-right influence than I care for, even here; but it's nothing like what it seems to be in the USA.
