3. Not really. I've had them approach my fishing boat in California
and give me a lookover. They didn't seem inclined to fear me much. Clever critters -- I gave them some of my live bait, which did nothing to discourage them.

4. I was in a zodiac in the Au Au Channel on Maui
several years ago and we were surrounded by at least 24 dolphins. I leaned over to look in the water and, as I did, one of the dolphins turned slightly and looked me right in the eye. I felt a surge of something I never felt before--recognition? Awe? I don't know, but I'm absolutely sure that that dolphin was as aware and as curious of me as I was him him. It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life and I still get chills thinking about it.
