Poll question: Our relationships with other people have much greater influence on our quality of life than
any alleged relationship with a transcendent deity.

True or False?

1. Intellectuals care more about Ideas than people,Politicians need people,
and ideas equally,Spiritualists are dependent on the intangible.

2. I don't think of myself of any less of an intellectual
for caring about the tangible over the intangible (people over ideas). I think "supernatural" is a misnomer, for by existing something is, obviously, part of nature, or at least the universe.

6. "Supernatural" is indeed a misnomer
That which causes our existence is of its essence natural, and could be nothing else. The concept of "super" implies separation, and how can one separate themselves from themselves and everything that makes up everything?

4. Or….
The most common, variously repeated and consistent advice to humanity during our “alleged relationship with a transcendent deity” goes to the core of “our relationships with other people”-

http://www.religioustolerance.org/reciproc.htm

and, however expressed, is the foundation “influence on our quality of life” and the lives of others.

5. Our relationships with other people starts with our relationship
with ourselves. Those with low self-esteem view the world differently than those with high self-esteem. Thus, working with one's own self is of paramount importance to determining one's quality of life. One's thoughts and actions towards others and towards That are all colored by one's thoughts of one's own self.

7. How does that show itself in the case of people
dedicated to serving others without regard to the effect that service has on oneself. That the most noble aspect of life is service to others, is that the outlook of low or high self esteem ?

8. A person who dedicates themselves to a life of selfless service
knows and understands who they truly are, and are not in need of ego gratification. Therefore, that person has high self-esteem, if one defines "self-esteem" as knowing and accepting onesself for who one is, which is my definition. Those without this self-knowledge and understanding are always out searching for someone or something "out there" to explain or define them-to give them worth.
