16. I would never join a religion that doesn't take pets.

Every dog, cat, horse, rabbit, rat, snake, you name it that I've ever lived with has been WAY more deserving of the short cut to heaven than I am. (OK, maybe not my current cat - but only because it wouldn't be heaven to her without my ankles to swipe).

I'd be more inclined to send money to someone who offered to take care of my animals in heaven for as long as it takes until I arrive....cause that might be a while. :rofl:

22. Reminds me of a story.

An old man and his old dog pass away at the same time, napping on the porch.

They find themselves walking down a beautiful country road together. They come to a splendid gate, all gold and silver and pearl. A noble angel with shining wings says to the man, "Come on in! Welcome to heaven!" The man starts to walk in, and the angel says, "Oh, I'm sorry, sir. Animals don't have souls. Only you can come in, not the dog."

The man says, "Well if he can't come in, I won't either." They keep walking. They come to another gate, that looks like a normal farm gate, kind of run down, and a dude in overalls hanging out. The guy at the gate says, "Hey, you wanna come in here? It ain't fancy, but we've got some lemonade for you and cool water for your friend."

The old man says, "All right, thank you. Much better."

Then everything changes, and the gate is even more splendid than the first one, and the overalls guy turns into a whole choir of angels.

The old man is told that this is the real heaven. Of course both he and his dog are welcome, forever. The first gate they passed was really Hell--which is where someone who'd sell out their best friend belongs.
