Pastor Arrested, More Charges Possible As Community Shocked
Christopher Daniels stood before an Anderson County Magistrate Court Judge early Monday evening and without hesitation answered the first question asked of him.

“Are you Christopher Patrick Daniels,“ the judge asked. “Yes, I am,“ Daniels responded. After that and a few other brief questions and answers, Daniels was held on $25,000 bond.

Daniels, the Pastor at Blue Ridge Baptist Church in Belton for the past eight months, was arrested early Tuesday afternoon and charged with second-degree arson, pulling him out from behind the pulpit and in front of a judge, not a place that his congregation is used to seeing him.

Just two months ago, Daniels was outraged and in tears after gangs allegedly sprayed graffiti throughout the church.

“Why touch a church?,“ Daniels said at the time. “It’s a place you come to be with God. Why touch a church? The church is here to help, not hurt anyone.“

Those accusations are now being questioned by investigators who say the two crimes could be linked.

1. From the picture, my first thought was sex involving a child or something
but let me get this straight

"gangs" spray paint grafitti all over church
church is outraged and feels like a victim
dollars presumably flow into church?
membership grows?
Pastor gets busted for arson.

Good Grief - Ted Haggard has his work cut out for him - He should be working on Deceit for Dummies: How to Fleece the Flock and get treated like a God doing "Holy" Work

There are obviously some rank amateurs out there

3. In Jesus Camp, Ted Haggard ends his words about ministry with "It's a fabulous life!"

When will people come to regard those who volunteer to ASSUME spiritual authority over others with more skepticism. Think of the list of perks that go along with "the ministry". Do you think these economic, social, and psychological perks have anything to do with why so many folks "hear the voice of God" and decide that they have a religious vocation???

6. His church
"fire at a Belton church today was the result of arson and has become the focus of a multi-agency investigation, said Anderson County Fire Chief Billy Gibson."
