2012 Survial. Brought to you by Sony?
http://instituteforhumancontinuity.org/

The above referenced site is sponsoring a "lottery" for housing to survive "2012". It is owned by Sony, who has a movie coming out next year titled, "2012". There are a lot of religious overtones to this proposed scenario.

To enter the "lottery", one enters birth data. And, the TOS states:

CHANGES IN SITE OWNERSHIP

You will be deemed to have consented to the disclosure to, and use by, a subsequent owner or operator of the Site, of any information about you contained in the applicable SPE database, to the extent SPE assigns its rights and obligations regarding such information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of SPE's assets, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or substantially all of the assets related to this particular Site to a subsequent owner or operator. In the event of such a merger, acquisition, or sale, your continued use of the Site signifies your agreement to be bound by the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of the Site's subsequent owner or operator.

This is a youtube documentary about the site. He mistakenly states that "Sony" is not mentioned on the site. It is clearly stated in the "Terms of Serivce".

I'm wondering how Sony has authority to make such housing offers?
Or, is it all about the movie?

2. Does Sony need some government approval to give away houses?
Sony has been quietly buying up land in the US for decades. They do it under the guise of providing housing for their executives and other high-level employees brought over from Japan. They are constructing a new corporate headquarters right here in San Diego which from what I hear is completely self-contained with its own air and water supply.

Sony executives have known about the coming disaster for some time which is why they have chosen now, under the cover of a crashing economy to to close plants, lay off workers and send their top management people back to Tokyo.

With the vast land holdings they will have after the catastrophe, Sony will essentially be able to function as the new world government.

3. Are you serious?
Sony? aka NWG?

What if there is no "catastrophe"? Did you view the video link? There's no such thing.

4. Unless?
It is a planned "catastrophe" brought to you by Sony? A life sized Universal Studio event?
Wouldn't that be appropriate.

5. Where can I get my tinfoil hat?
I mean, seriously? Sony is prepping for the end of the world? Why would they put their "bunker" in San Diego, a place that is overcrowded, has no easily obtainable natural resource, and would be all bu un-defendable from the hordes of people trying to get in after the apocalypse? I dont get it.

6. As John Houseman said in Rollerball
"...the corporation provides for your every need. The only thing it asks in return is that you do not interfere with management decisions."

And as far as that overcrowding, compared to Tokyo, San Diego is sparse. It is next to the ocean and Mexico is just down the street. The fact that San Diego is accessible from only a couple major highways, and has no rail service to speak of plus the fact that about 10% of the population is active duty military actually makes it very defensible.

It is nice to see a company like Sony being a good corporate citizen and working proactive ly in the face of looming disaster.

7. It's about the movie; the Terms of Service stuff looks genuine - it's hosted on sonypictures.com
I suppose their lawyers said it had to go in there, even for the fake websites like this one. I'd guess the 'survival lottery' might turn out to be for tickets to early screenings. And they get your details, for marketing both this movie, and others.

It's got John Cusack in. That's a fairly good sign.
