1. Dr. Stevenson observed that...
across his 3000+ case histories the average length of time between the death and the rebirth of that same soul was 14 months. (I'm sure it's just coincidence that GW Bush was born 14 months after Hitler's death.)

2. No different than the Calvinists.
"I believe the search for the answer may lead us to think that the nature of our illnesses may derive at least in part from previous lives."

Blame the victim crap. If you're sick or poor or whatever, it's because you pissed off god/karma/the universe/Bob/whatever.

You and I have been physically given two hands and two legs and a half-decent brain. Some people have not been born like that for a reason. The karma is working from another lifetime.

I actually like David Blunkett's comment (he's not normally my favourite politician, to put it mildly):

{div class="excerpt"]The then British Education Secretary David Blunkett, who is blind, joked that "Glenn's logic means that I must have been a fairly disastrous football coach in a previous life."

4. Interesting. Rightly so, I'd say.
Blunkett's comment just further proves that if you want to give someone a verbal smackdown, nobody beats the Brits. :)

5. Okay, here's a story
and frankly, I don't believe in reincarnation as a personal dogma. But hey, who knows?

My daughter responded to my call that my dad was dying and got in her car to come to the hospital. On the way there she was hit with a very severe pain in the lower abdomen. She pulled over, figured it was emotional. It went away. She drove ten more minutes. She got to the hospital about ten minutes after he died.

A week later she found out she was pregnant. She has had another pregnancy since and has come to recognize that pain as implantation.

So, the child that was born looks and behaves very much like my dad, which of course is genetic. But there have been three incidents (won't bore you with them here, but if you want you can PM me) where the child has said things that he couldn't know, and that were very common things for my father.

Okay, fire away! I said I don't really believe in it, but you know what? I love the mystery!
