Poll question: Religion Affiliation Check
I am just curious and would like to take a survey of the current religious affiliation or lack of religious interest for the members of this forum.

Check the option that would be the closest to you.

18. I'll be kind to you...
For as long as you like. But I have "issues" that need expressing and I love outed Xians.

Welcome to DU and prepare to defend your perspective - mines been tarnished but is still standing. Its a great forum for arguing against those that you believe are wrong, and for defending what you believe is right; but you may realise you know less than you thought on both fronts - which is a GOOD thing if you end up learning more, whether your position hardens or migrates is neither here nor there if you have more reason to back up your position.

Now, I'll count to 100 and then....

Only Joking - enjoy DU and dont be afraid, only the athiests bite.

23. Yep, I'm totally out of the closet
but I am no philosopher. In fact, I flunked philosophy and chemistry in undergraduate school. So don't look for too much from me in the way of point and counterpoint. I've read most of the major works of Harris, for example and I'm still in the fold. Oddly enough, I rather like the fellow. Just don't agree with him, but I applaud his passion and he writes well. I'm not a Bible literalist, so I won't be arguing about much from that perspective. My Christianity is internal, I'd guess you would say. But I have a fascination for people's beliefs, whether zen, Buddhist, atheist, whatever. So I look forward to great dialogue in the future!

sort of a nonpracticing neopagan ecofeminist with anabaptist leanings. I don't attend any church. I don't belong to any groups. My religion (when I think of it) is all in my head and heart.

44. On the surface, it makes no sense whatsoever.
People normally think atheist, agnostic, and spiritual are all mutually exclusive - but they're not. Additionally, I'm a materialist (which is kind of redundant, but I just want to make sure I get the point across). I'd explain, but I don't want to bore anyone to tears.

Welcome to DU by the way :hi:

Did you mean pantheist (in dictionary) or Panentheist (in encyclopedia)?

in a surprising location.

for a liberal congregation, that is

and a large liberal congregation at that!

(to my knowledge all our current pastors are liberal Democrats, openly and unabashedly so!)

We get to worship in a high church dignified service in a Faux Gothic cathedral style building, with very liberal interpretations.

And my Sunday School class has more fun than any group I have associated with in many years.
