Added another page to my blog about edamame calories. If you are interested in calories, recipes and food in general come check it out. Help an unemployed girl out. :)

1. Nice blog. I never considered growing edamame and I got the idea from your blog.
We eat so much of it that I will definitely grow it next summer, thanks for the tip!

:)

2. Thanks for the compliment
I suffer from to much shade in my yard so I can't even grow grass. But next year I am getting a community plot to see what my brown thumbs can grow. :)

3. I planted the soybeans that are for consumption, not planting & it was fantastic!

I used to order edamame seeds from Park Seeds.

This year I had just a few edamame seeds left over from last year and the deer who snuck into my yard on a windy day when my deer curtain had blown open had eaten several of the leaves which seriously stunts plant growth.

A Chinese coworker of mine, who makes her own soy milk gave me a small bag of soybeans she buys from an Asian market for $2 a lb. I planted 25 & within a week I had 100% germination.

I want to report that not only were the plants bigger, & healthier than an edeamame specific plant, the crop, was fantastic and the non edamame soybeans I ate were delicious. I ate them lightly boiled or steamed, often with no seasoning.

I am now considering trying to eat other grocery store beans while immature, like black eyed peas, red beans, pinto etc.
