Comic actor Alan Sues dies at 85

Comic actor Alan Sues, a star of US television series Rowan And Martin's Laugh-In, has died at the age of 85.

Known for his outrageous, camp persona, Sues had several recurring characters on the comedy series, including Big Al - an effeminate sport reporter and Uncle Al the Kiddie's Pal.

His close friend Michael Gregg Michaud told the Associated Press that Sues had died of cardiac arrest on Thursday at his home in West Hollywood.

I still remember him as "Uncle Al, The Kiddie's Pal" from Laugh-In(I was seven when that show started). One of the best people on that show.

3. He seemed to me to be one of the most pro-Sixties members of the cast

in his basic persona, as opposed to Rowan and Martin themselves, who's take on the era seemed to be that of a couple of middle-aged cynics who'd had a few drinks.

Also, he came off as someone you'd genuinely enjoy spending time with, somehow.

Was a kid just into double-digits in the 60's...but it seemed to me that "Big Al" would be a genuinely FUN person to hang with.

I LOVED him on Laugh-In. Heck, I loved just about everyone on Laugh-In. Awesome show.

11. Very Funny Man

Great character actor who could always come up with the best improvised one liners, especially when he appeared on Hollywood Squares. While that show featured many of Hollywood's best entertainers he frequently stole the show.
