Rusty Griswald out of control

By Josh Grossberg
updated 9/6/2011 3:06:15 PM ET

Forget "Weird Science." More like weird behavior.

Former Brat Packer Anthony Michael Hall was busted Monday night by a neighbor on suspicion of disturbing the peace, E! News has learned.

Apparently, the geek is now the bully. Here's what happened.

LAPD confirm the former '80s teen star, best known for his roles in a number of classic John Hughes films including "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club," was taken into custody after an ugly confrontation with a fellow resident at his Westside L.A. condominium complex. ............(more)

1. Celebrity 'who cares' behavior, but
Rusty Griswald was not one of his roles.

2. Yes it was...
He was the original Rusty Griswold, in National Lampoon's Vacation.

4. Only in the first movie
They kept changing the actors that played Rusty & Audrey. I guess they grew up or something.

6. Yikes - so I was wrong. I still don't care, though.
The behavior of celebrities is not newsworthy. :eyes:

10. It's funny how you assumed the poster was a man and I assumed woman.
I could tell when she didn't know who played rusty griswald and didn't care.

9. I disagree, this behaviour is a good indicator of a larger problem.
He was a good actor as a young fellow, natural, spontaneous and funny. John Hughes in particular bonded with his actors in a special way, they attached to him I think.

Every time a celebrity who was well known as a child melts down as an adult it says something very important about our society. These people are the canaries in the coal mine.

The objectives of "being special" and "getting noticed" are hollow and dehumanizing at best and outright destructive at worst and are now pursued or at least hoped for by vast numbers of young people. Its part of the same disease of "I don't want millionaires to be taxed 'cause when I become a millionaire I don't want to have to pay tax". Its delusional and it is massively destructive for society as a whole.

These former starts have lost the spotlight and they spend much of their lifetime trying to deal with that loss, usually badly. They are disconnected from life and what really matters as is anyone pursuing "fame". Look at all the reality shows that promise a shot at fame. There is no quality of life when one is pursuing such goals, IMO.
