9. I felt bad about it, but I removed my simpsons DVR timer last season.

I guess some people must still watch it, but I can't. I don't even recognize the characters any more.

2. Fox was guilty of the most F-bombs being dropped of all
and there was a huge increase in F-bomb dropping lately.
But Fox fans will never learn of this.

18. where did you hear that?
Edited on Fri Nov-12-10 02:21 AM by Tunkamerica
I work as an MCO at a FOX affiliate and therefore watch more FOX than pretty much any other person. I haven't heard one F-bomb in the 4 years I've worked there. Admittedly I am not there every single night, but most. And I'd hear about it if it happened. Are you talking about bleeped words? Gordon Ramsey would be responsible for 95% of those if true. But we are down to one reality show in the fall season and American idol and So you think you can dance in the spring and summer, neither one known for their cursing.

On edit: read the above poster's article and I was right. Bleeped f-words from Gordon Ramsey. Not a big surprise. But I'd rather hear Ramsey curse than the d-bags on Big Brother or Survivor. And I would wager that scripted shows on Fox have less profanity. Because I haven't seen it at all in the last 4 years. Piss is the worst offender (1 time last year) and I hear that on all the channels.

4. I was looking at quotes from the brilliant "A Star is Burns" episode...
and thought to myself "they've still got it" before I realized that episode is 15 YEARS OLD...

Still, that film festival was inspiring...

I should watch the 20th season DVD sometime...

5. I love that episode.
"Pish posh! Listen, Spielbergo, Schindler and I are like peas in a pod! We're both factory owners, we both made shells for the Nazis, but mine worked, damn it!"

8. As long as everyone in the cast still wants to do it, "The Simpsons" can run for years.

12. My town has never heard of it. It's too deep for them.
They don't watch it because you have to pay attention and WATCH and LISTEN.

Oh, and Homer uses big words like "schadenfreude".

I know this because I bought some Simpsons stamps at the post office last fall and I asked the other people in line if they watched it. They never heard of it, didn't know a damn thing about it.

This is redneck America, folks. They want: bad joke -- laugh track to prompt Pavlovian laugh response -- repeat.

They don't want to think. I didn't know that a sitcom could be on a major network for 22 years and people would never hear about it, but I was wrong.

I did not love Lucy, BTW.

15. It should've ended a long time ago
because I no longer find it as humorous as it was back in the 90's or early 2000's.

20. As long as there's Fox Noise
Considering that lately, the show has been making fun of Fox Noise in the opening credits, I can honestly say that as long as there's Fox Noise, there will be Simpsons.

so overtly make fun of Fox makes it all the better.
