Mel Gibson "furious" over drug user Mike Tyson getting a second chance while he's kicked to the curb

http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/hangover_ax_burns_mel_bvoByOJbq2NEIV3y5MDEJK?CMP=OTC-rss&FEEDNAME=

Mel Gibson is furious at producers of "The Hangover Part II" for booting him from the flick, sources say. Gibson's minor role as a Bangkok tattoo artist was seen as a comeback for his tattered career, but producers were quick to cut him loose when cast members objected to working with him. A source close to Gibson told us, "He doesn't understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance." Alan Nierob, who represents Gibson and Liam Neeson, issued a statement hinting at resentment over the firing. Nierob said Neeson will replace Gibson in the part, "pending clearance of cast and crew background check," he quipped. Gib son is embroiled in a legal battle with ex- girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who alleges he assaulted and threatened her.

1. Tyson was more than just a drug user....
It's less his drug use that makes the movie/actors hypocrites as it is his history of admitted domestic abuse and other bad, bad things.

I hate to side with Gibson on anything but he does have a point in general. The actors and filmmaker taking the supposed high road on this is fairly dubious.

On the other hand, Tyson has over 5-10 years shown some signs of rehabilitation whereas Mel seems to expect that everyone is just ready to forget about all of this stuff just a few months after it happened. Also, Tyson has shown some signs of repentence and learning some lessons. Mel continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over again.

2. No sympathy here. Mel has had his "second chance" and then some.
Besides, since when is Mel owed a part - for what, being Mel?

3. here is a thought Mel - go a couple rounds with Tyson.
That'll get you noticed.

If you need dough re-release the Jesus snuff film. It'll probably take in another $100 mil in this goofy country.

4. Mel. You are a dick. Nobody likes you.
You got a second chance, and you were a dick again.

Good-bye.
