Distraught Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 90 Days Jail
OMG, what has the world come to.

BEVERLY HILLS (Reuters) - A distraught Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Tuesday after a judge ruled that she had violated her probation by missing a string of alcohol education classes imposed for a 2007 drunk driving arrest.

Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ordered the "Mean Girls" star to report for jail on July 20. She also ordered Lohan to attend a 90-day residential substance abuse program once she has completed her sentence.

Lohan, 24, whose once promising movie career has foundered in recent years, sobbed loudly on hearing the sentence. Earlier, she tearfully begged the judge for another chance saying she was taking her alcohol education classes seriously.

"I am not taking this as a joke. This is my life. It is my career. It is something I have worked for all my life," the actress pleaded.

2. she should go to rehab.....
...if she can't go to a few alcohol education classes, that's a clear indication that she's not taking it seriously.

5. Or maybe she's a full-blown alcoholic at this point and only residential treatment (like in jail)...
... is going to stop her spinning long enough to get through to her.

She's only 24, and she partied so hard she's lost her money, her career is tanking, and it's kind of pathetic. It's not fun any more, but she doesn't know how to stop, is my guess.

9. I feel sorry for her
She was exploited early and has not handled it well. Maybe a judicial dope slap is what she needs. I hope she rights herself.

6. I hope she pulls through this, like one of my favorites -
Robert Downey, jr. Like him, I think Ms. Lohan is a very talented person who has surrounded herself with enablers who aren't doing her any favors. Although harsh, this judge may turn out to be her best friend. One can hope.

7. Reminds me of when Paris Hilton was convicted and cried for "Mom!"
Rich celebrities think that they are immune to accountability and they won't be punished. OTOH another individual not famous may have received more than 90 days, but still, LL got her due. She earned it.

8. "This is my life. It is my career." Umm... when did Lohan have an actual career?

It's been 5 years since she's done anything remotely good that's been shown on TV or the theaters, besides being a a frequent "guest" on TMZ.

The last thing she's done that's been seen widely was her guest hosting stint on SNL back in 2005. That movie she made back in 2007 went straight to video I think, or at least I didn't see it any theaters in Southern California.

Oh yeah, that 4 episode stint on "Ugly Betty". That's what it's come down to now?
