Michael Douglas refuses to sign Polanski petition
Michael Douglas has refused to sign a petition calling for Roman Polanski to escape extradition - insisting it would be "unfair" to support "somebody who did break the law."

The director is currently under house arrest in Switzerland following his arrest in Zurich in September.

U.S. lawmakers want Polanski returned to America so he can be handed his punishment for having unlawful sex with a minor in 1977. He fled the country on the eve of his sentencing.

On Tuesday, several moviemakers showed their support for Polanski by signing a petition at the Cannes Film Festival in France, with stars including Jean-Luc Godard, Agnes Varda, Bertrand Tavernier and Olivier Assayas calling on Swiss officials to reject pressure from America to extradite Polanski.

1. Good for him.
It's disturbing how many people support this rapist.

3. What is strange is we find ourselves in a position to say, "Good for him."
This should just be common sense.

2. I'm not surprised... His own son, after all is having to face
the consequences of his drug use and dealing. It doesn't surprise me that Michael, like his father, Kurt, would take a hard line on this kind of thing. That is not a criticism of either one.
