DUGGAR's Have baby #19.... 3 Months Early!
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,580024,00.html

(Sorry for the fox connection.. but I haven't found it on CNN yet)

Michelle Duggar, star of the TLC show "18 Kids and Counting," gave birth to her 19th child Thursday, according to a statement from TLC, which airs the program.

Josie Brooklyn arrived three months prematurely and weighed only 1 pound, 6 ounces. She was due March 18, according to the Duggar Family Web site.

Duggar, 42, was hospitalized last weekend for gallstones, and she was given an emergency Caesarean section Thursday evening.

"Michelle is resting comfortably, and baby is stable and in the NICU for extended care," read a statement on TLC's Web site. "The most important thing right now is for Mom and baby Josie to get as much rest as possible. The family is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes during their recovery."

Dr. Manny Alvarez, chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Science at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, told FoxNews.com that a baby of Josie's size could face many challenges.

"Some of these challenges could include cerebral palsy, deafness, blindness, chronic respiratory problems, chronic gastrointestinal problems and bleeding in the brain," said Alvarez, who is also managing health editor of FoxNews.com. "Everything really depends on the first 30 days of life."

Alvarez said Josie would most likely stay in the neonatal intensive-care unit for up to four months.

Babies typically can leave the NICU when they are able to breathe without support, maintain a stable body temperature, breast or bottle-feed and gain weight steadily.

Duggar, and her husband, Jim Bob, now have 19 kids whose names all begin with the letter "J."

The Duggars' eldest son, Josh, and his wife, Anna, recently gave birth to a baby girl too.

I'm sorry that they're going to have to deal with having a Premie baby.. it's going to be a lot of hard work, and an emotional rollercoaster. But, maybe this will prevent baby #20?? Seriously - at the age of 42, with 18 other children the Duggars were frankly playing Russian Roulette with Jim-Bob's Gun, so to speak. Eventually they were going to have a baby with some sort of handicap or other disability... maybe they will see this as a sign from "God" to make Josie be the last baby. And I hope her older brothers & sisters aren't in charge of raising her, if she's lucky enough to survive... 3 months early is no cake walk. I hope this baby comes out of this well, and I also hope her parents get some sense to stop having more kids.

I'm sick of seeing the cocktail frank flying in and out of the wide open doors of the Vehicle Assembly Building at Cape Kennedy.

3. I don't approve of their lifestyle choice
but I would strongly oppose any governmental effort to restrict their choice.

IF, however, they are receiving any food stamps or welfare, I, as a taxpayer, would appreciate a Thank You note from them.

7. That, they don't do..
From what i've read in the past - Jim Bob is a real estate owner.. and they built their home, etc.. themselves. Everything they buy is with cash, and they sew their own clothes or buy them from 2nd hand shops.

Their fiscal lifestyle is admirable actually.. and frankly, I never had much of a problem with them.. but now a baby is going to have to possibly live the rest of her life with disabilities. I suppose you could argue that the other option is that she'd never been concieved at all - but that's above my pay grade. ;)

11. Don't forget the fat stacks they get from TLC and other TV appearances.
I'm sure they get quite a bit of dinero to get theior faces on TV.

14. Absolutely...
But, even before they were on TV - they didn't recieve government support. Granted, they lived in a tiny 3 bedroom house and not the hotel they have now!

10. I don't know...if "Freedom" creates premies, burdens the welfare system and medical system
It may be a tad over-rated. Just saying.

(also strains food resources)

But whatever

15. You're kidding. They've been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for their TV show.
They've been on a lot longer that 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' and I read they were getting something like $500K a year.

5. I am reminded of Stewie Griffin's quote
"So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?"

Its a pretty good "moral" case for Granny to stop now, before #20, despite the TLC contract.

Fuckin disgusting circus monkeys

8. Who's paying for this baby?
Other than whatever network sponsors their damn show.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to see the reality show of the Duggars going into foreclosure for medical bills. I wish we would.

12. She'll be pregnant again before #19 leaves the hospital
I support choice. It's unfortunate that Jim Bob Duggar's choice is endangering his wife's health, let alone compelling his older children to carry the actual burden of childrearing.

13. In other words, they can't pass this one off onto their older kids to raise for them.
They'll actually have to PARENT this one. Poor little kid. She didn't ask to be given to those negligent nutjobs. :(

16. Oh.. give 'em time
I have a feeling that the older kids will quickly learn how to feed via a stomach tube, etc. Don't worry.. the 12 - 14 year old girls will soon be very interested in becoming Neo-natal nurses before they graduate home-school high school.

17. If they are paying attention, this will be the last baby.
I wish them all the best -- being born three months premature is serious -- and hope that maybe now common sense will take over.

It's only a matter of time before Mrs. Duggar's health is compromised by all the marathon pregnancies.
