2. She was right - we/they did abandon him when he needed support the most
during the 'witch hunts'. That is a guilt/regret that many will have to now live with.

6. I would have watched if I knew there would be that kind of honesty.
That was just beautiful. Did she write that herself? The reason I couldn't watch the VMA's is because I was expecting a phony, sappy tribute when I know he was a joke before he died. Madonna said it all so perfectly!

8. I was watching some other clips.
It actually looks like it was a good show. Good thing MTV is going to rerun it a zillion times.

9. We are a judgemental lot, aren't we?
I thought her tribute was very touching. You could tell that she was putting herself in the category of those who let Michael Jackson down when he needed them the most. And that she feels remorse for that.

She made me think. Not just about MJ, but about how we treat people in general.

10. Yes we are...
...and many people felt the same way she did, myself included. One person said to me:

"Her guilt is our guilt"

And for many, it is. She put to words what a lot of people - both inside and outside Hollywood, felt when he died.

12. Me too.
That really touched me. I haven't heard any other celebrity cop to letting Michael down, and she called everyone out, and included herself among those who failed him. I hope they "got it." I've certainly learned a lot about how we treat people generally, as you say, since Michael died, and I am glad to know I'm not the only one.

13. It seems like - from all I've read and people I've talked to - a LOT of people felt regret
when he died - for having judged him so harshly, for having abandoned him, forgotten about him and in some cases, never having paid much attention to him to start with (until after he died.)

Like THIS girl:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcETj8D6qy4&NR=1

It's a HARSH lesson for us to learn - too late. Had we/them/us/whoever not been so quick to judge him based on the media's LIES and the accusations of obvious extortionists (and those out to sensationalize and profit from that namely the media) - had we been there for him and paid some attention when he as alive - maybe he'd STILL be alive.

It's heartbreaking. It really is.

14. Right on the money
I think he went to heaven. None of the allegations made sense. He was guilty over putting that kid on drugs and booze, but I swear I am sure that was all. Any sensible parent would NEVER accept money in lieu of anything else if he had actually molested those kids. He had fantastic talent and I hope that everyone in that stupid industry experiences guilt as much as possible. Madonna was the only forthright person in that room.
