1. I guess it's the end of the series.
We were all pretty stunned in my house.

2. I just looked on the web site...
...and don't see any mention of further episodes.

3. I don't think its the end. They were heading back to England
and the Sheriff got away. Also, they took forever to bring season 2 around.

I totally didn't see that coming.

4. I guess it could go either way at this point.
It would be hard to imagine plotlines with that character.

5. They are filming Series 3 right now in Budapest.
Remember that Series 2 aired in England late last year.

Luckily, I knew about the ending a few months ago, so I've been prepared. Many scenes from Series 2, including the Marian death scene, were posted on the Internet. Lucy Griffiths wanted to do other things, so they decided to end her role this way. It was somewhat controversial; some cast members didn't think it was a good idea. Richard Armitage (Guy), for one, told the writers he wasn't too happy about having to kill Marian.

Series 3 has some interesting plot developments.

Guy of Gisbourne goes on a serious downward spiral after having killed Marian. He has a sister who shows up, and the version of his family history that we knew is somewhat turned upside down. An actress named Lara Pulver, a beautiful actress who looks like she could be Richard Armitage's sister, plays the role.

I also think (not sure, though) that Guy and the Sheriff are on the outs.

Toby Stephens guest stars as Prince John.

BTW, check out BBC's 2004 Miniseries "North and South," a mid-19th century period drama in which Richard Armitage and Daniela Denby-Ashe play the leads. It's absolutely superb. Really wonderful.

7. Not on the official website yet, presumably because they're still focused on
Series 2; want to sell the DVD coming out in a day or so.

10. I tried to watch that show.
The episode I watched seemed to be about a bunch of modern people trying to solve modern problems while dressed like ancient old dudes. An absent father trying to get back into his son's life, while the independent mother tells him he can't because it'd be bad for the boy's mental state? Fine for nowadays, but it seemed kinda goofy considering the setting.

Anyway, that was just one episode. I mighta just caught a bad one on a bad day for me to watch something new. It happens.

12. I thought it was Robin Hood on BBC.
Maybe it wasn't. I watch a ton of TV and it could've been some lame weekend type stuff from USA or SciFi.

There was some dude named Will, and he was locked up in a dungeon with his son (who didn't know him) and the kid's mom, and the rest of the merry band was trying to spring 'em.

Maybe it was all a bad dream...

13. Ah, yes. Episode 10 or 11 of Series 1.
It was just a fun romp. You had to really watch from the beginning.

14. Didn't like it!
Could not get into the 'new' Robin Hood at all. I suppose I've still got a soft spot for the 80s TV series starring Michael Praed (and later Jason Connery), which took it into a mystical, 'new-age' direction, complete with Clannad score, and that bloke with antlers on his head (Herne the Hunter, I think....)

17. I turned it on Saturday night at the very end
I was channel surfing and got the funeral. Looked very sad.

I had seen a preview during the week and it said someone died.

Maybe I'll catch reruns or the DVD and give it another shot.

18.  I checked your profile. You're female. Here's the truth, the whole
truth, and nothing....

I was a bit turned off by the initial episode because of the violence. I'm really squeamish about hangings and things like that. But since I'm an Anglophile, I gave it a try the next week.

I liked it a lot. It was fun. Also, if you're over 30 (doesn't matter how far over), you may start to notice what a gorgeous hunk Guy of Gisborne is. It just gets better and better each week. He becomes the rival of Robin Hood for Marian. Although he's deliciously evil, he has a very appealing side, and , if you are a said female, especially over 30, you start thinking, "Ok, so he's a bad guy, but Marian nuts for not wanting him." It's a terrific triangle.

Just so you know.

North and South - wow.

21. I just looked it up; I can get it through Netflix
It's based on Elizabeth Gaskell's novels. I love her work. "Cranford" was just on PBS and it was fantastic!

22. Sorry if this becomes a duplicate; tried to post it but didn't go through.
Cranford was terrific, but North and South is much better. Even my 12-year-old stepson enjoyed it.

North and South is a great social commentary, with superb acting, and a great love story.
As much as I loved Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth, Richard Armitage as John Thornton simply takes your breath away. (I'm not alone among lovers of Brit TV in this comparison.)

Have a good time, and let me know your reaction.

23. I still can't believe it!
I was so upset when they actually killed Marian! I don't think an American show would have done that...kill off the main love interest character. Also, I have never seen any version of the "Robin Hood" story where Marian dies. I admit, I love the Kevin Costner movie version. So deliciously cheesy! I will probably watch season 3 when it comes on, if just to see Robin avenge the murder. I liked the romance of the Robin/Marian story and I will miss it.

24. I just got a copy of the 1950s British Robin Hood series on DVD for about $8.00
It was very popular on American network TV when I was a kid. We used to make up parodies of the theme song.

(The Monty Python "Dennis Moore" song is a parody of the theme of Robin Hood.)

25. Yeah, I watch it and mostly like it although I would probably
rewrite some stuff. It seems they could have brought in another actress to play Marion. It's been done before. Also, it seems that the actor who plays Robin Hood will be leaving after season 3, so I can't see how there will be a season 4.
