Currently reading: "Three Cups of Tea" - very interesting story. Really points toward
how and where our foreign policy should be directed. Hell of alot more efficient and humane than warfare!

1. There was an interview with Mortensen in Outside a few issues ago
I've heard of him from his climbing days and thought the book sounded interesting. Is it well written, would you recommend it?

2. Pennies for Peace projects
Students have helped build over 60 schools for 25,000 kids and today it got even easier for kids to help. The NEA and Pearson Foundation have designed a Pennies For Peace Toolkit to help educators create effective service-learning penny-raising campaigns. The toolkit contains an educational component to teach geography and culture; as well as campaign tools to raise awareness in the local communities, including letter and press release templates, stickers, and flyers.

Mortenson is awesome. The dedication he has is amazing and rare.

5. Interesting..
Back in 2007 when I was still in college my (Croatian) Database Administration prof offered us extra credit for reading this book. Don't think it had anything to do with the class at all but apparently the guy really liked it.
