28 Stories of Aids in Africa by Stephanie Nolen
Every aspect of the multi-faceted epidemic that is ravishing the population of an entire continent is presented by the Canadian journalist who spent years traveling and reporting in sub-Saharan Africa.
Among many heart wrenching descriptions is one of young mothers being tested for the two-headed monster of HIV/TB, which is the number one epidemic in Africa, and actually hoping that they're positive so they'll qualify for a minute government stipend that they'll use to help feed their children.
The number one epidemic in America: obesity.
wow
A life altering read-highly recommended.
