1. Definitly Garrison Keillor
He's usually funny, and I need some laughs. I listen to him Sundays on NPR, and he definitly has some tongue-in-cheek things to say about Politics. Along with Ketschup and buttermilk bisquits! :>)

3. Definitely Zinn...
The background history is so important to understanding what is going on now. I refer back to it several times a month. It belongs on everyones bookshelf.

I have two friends who have purchased copies after I lent them mine, we now have great conversations and fruitful debates, since I am not having to constantly correct the faulty educations they got in high school.

5. Spanking the Donkey
A quick read too. I didn't put it down once I started. Start with the * chapter first where he goes undercover and works for * in FL. Matt puts his finger on alot of things that I've felt but haven't quite been able to articulate. I think his critique of the spectacle that is the presidential campaign is right on the mark.

6. I've been trying to read Zinn's book
With my work schedule, it's hard to read as much as I used to, but it looks like an excellent choice.

And, with a book club to discuss it with, I'd be more apt to read.

Zinn's got my vote.

8. Had to go with Keillor
because "Home Grown Democrat" contains a lot of conventional wisdom that resonates very nicely in the "red states".
