Poll question: Shall we continue the Book Club through the summer?
The May Book Club only has 5 hits & it's almost the end of the month. Maybe the book's a dud or maybe everyone is outside instead of inside reading.

I'm looking for feedback if we should suspend the Book Club for the summer & resume in September or do we have enough interested people to continue the Book Club throughout the summer.

Should we decide to continue with the club, here's the link for the June Book Club Poll, which we should finalize in the next week.

1. I wonder if DU would allow us to "promote" the book club...
in GD and/or LBN. I think a lot of folks would join in now and then, depending on what they're reading, but they don't check in over here. I admit that I may not participate very often, but that's probably why I suspect that others at DU would participate a month here and a month there, as time and interest allows. Promotion is probably going to be the key toward developing a more fluid and active book club, IMHO.

2. that's how I found it, it was on the front page
for "What's the matter with Kansas?" Also, for me, that book really hit the spot. Since then I have seen about three threads on that book in GD. In general I do not buy hardbacks, so my ability to join the club depends on the book and the availability at the local library.

There is no reason one us cannot post a thread in GD or the lounge, etc (although it would not really be 'latest breaking news') when we are starting a new book.
