somehow I missed Faulkner in my youth, and this is no book for an old woman to be reading . Is all of his stuff this depressing? I dreamed about death last night !
It's favorably compared to Huckleberry Finn. The first piece of his I ever read (and I've read most of his work since), it remains with me to this day - 30 years later.
