"Turning Angel" by Greg Isles
An intense murder mystery with lots of shootings, torture, sex, political chicanery and downright rotten human beings. I would classify this one as a page turner.

1. Oh, good! I have it right here, but have yet to read it.
Sounds like it's right up my alley! Thanks for the review.
I also have Iles' 'True Evil' which I haven't read yet, either. Have you?

2. Haven't read that one yet
I usually buy military fiction or non fiction, and my wife buys all the other stuff, so I end up reading whatever she gets, eventually. She reads about five books to every one I read. My number one interest is WWII Navy Stuff, my favorite fiction writer is James Lee Burke who will have two new books out this summer.

3. I LOVE Burke and haven't read anything by him in awhile.
Have you read any of the Steven Ambrose books? I used to buy them for Dad; he was into the civil war books, but I think Ambrose also wrote about WWII.

4. I've consumed a lot of Ambrose
He also was very instrumental in the establishment of the D-Day Museum in New Orleans (Now the WWII Museum.) He was an excellent historian. Burke will have a book of short stories out in June and his next novel will be out in July. Its about New Orleans after the Hurricane. A visit to the WWII Museum is a must.
