I never have, but I enjoyed Lenora Mattingly Weber's Beany Malone series decades ago, and on a web page about Weber's books, Janet Lambert was also mentioned.
3. I like Weber's books too, but haven't been able to get into Lambert
But it may be a cultural thing in part: Weber's books may be more accessible than Lambert's to a non-American.
Do you like Maud Hart Lovelace's Betsy-Tacy books? They seem to appeal to a similar audience to Weber, and I also enjoy them and find them more accessible than Lambert.
