Asscroft nominated to the Supreme Court
If Kerry was elected, most of his agenda was going to be stalled in the repuke House and Senate. At least he was going to be able to nominate new SCOTUS justices. With 3 or more justices ready to retire(Renhquist soon), Kerry could have left a permanent stamp on the high court. Now assclown will be able to ram through 3 or more right wing justices. This makes me sick.

There's still a filibuster proof minority in the Senate!

5. Our only hope is the filibuster
However, if Daschle goes down in SD, we will only have 45 (including Jeffords) votes in the senate. How many dems are going to stick their neck out on a SCOTUS filibuster? The numbers in the 2006 senate races are not good for us dems - we have a lot of seats to defend. I will bet that * will be able to nominate David Duke for the SCOTUS and get the votes.

4. nah, just renhquist
though I think we're trending towards a very divided court where justices retire by death rather than during an opposition presidency

7. I hope you are right
But, it looks like Rehnquist will retire or pass on and Sandy O will not be far behind. I sure hope Stevens doesn't get on any small planes.
