What if we were Rovians and we knew about Madsen and the leaks?
One last point that I haven't seen anyone bring up... Stay with me on this people, because it's going to get kinda weird toward the end. I'm going to try to put us in the mindset of those who supposedly stole this election, and what their reaction would be about Madsen's story.

What would be the best way for Madsen to protect himself and his sources? I'll tell you because it is right there in front of each and everyone of us. The best way to protect himself and his sources is to have them come forward with documentation, recordings, and what have you. To whom would it be best for them to "come out of the closet"? Not us. The main stream media has almost completely ignored us. If Madsen really has something, then it would be best -- albeit risky -- for him to come to them with his evidence. The man speaks as if he has hard evidence. Well then, fine! Prove it in the best possible way by showing up at any reputable news source and reveal all to them with his sources, tapes rolling, and lay it out there for the world to see. In an age of instant communication, the very best way to guarantee your the safety and integrity of your information -- in a case like this -- is to make sure as many people as possible have access to that information. That is to say, that if Madsen does this he offers his sources (and himself) the best safety net that they are going to get. Yes, it would be hard to do, but if he has the hard evidence, if he truly has sources, what has he got to fear? Let me tell you this friends -- he has a great deal more to fear lurking around in Rovian shadows because he's playing in the same territory of the beast. And we all know about home-field advantage. Right now Rove and his cronies have that advantage. If Madsen values his story, his life, his integrity, then he will stop all of this pussy-footing around. He'll get out of the dark because if he doesn't that darkness will consume him.

Let's play... Let's put ourselves in the minds of the people who rigged the election.

Put yourself in the mind of the people who are supposedly responsible for instigating this crime, this fixing an election through nefarious means. You've done your very best to seal up any potential leaks and you know damn well that there is going to be some. You want to ensure that your crime is not discovered. You've hired all the best people for the job. People who are every bit as devious as you in their character. You've succeeded in getting your boss "re-elected". You've plugged most of your leaks, but not all of them. There's bound to be some individuals who are unsatisfied with the way you've handled things, with the way you've handled them. You pay them, but in the end they don't feel you've paid them enough or at all.

Let's face it -- there is far more danger to this Madsen and his sources if the world doesn't know anything except for the cryptic information he's relayed so far. Quite honestly, Madsen staying in the shadows will enable us to have him killed. There, we said it. If we were behind such a plot and knew that our plot was hitting the "information super highway," that no one knows whom this Madsen's foreign sources are, that he is talking to what the media has dubbed as "tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist"... Well, we'd have the son of a bitch killed. Plain and simple. Because we'd be dammed if we're going to let something like this leak! Especially if the son of a bitch is only talking to kooks online that my media has labeled as crazy conspiracy theorist. Who's gonna miss him? Who's gonna care since he's only exposed the truth to them? In fact, fuck it, let's find these talkers and silence those bastards too -- fuck 'em all for talking. Kill every last one of them. This can't be found out. These turncoats can't be allowed to get away with exposing me. They'll pay. We'll snuff out the son of a bitch before he can investigate this any further. The world will only see what we allow it to see, what we make reality to be -- nothing more. Madsen and his troupe of leakers will die at the end of a cold steel barrel.

1. Interesting. Reminds me of the JFK assassination
where several people knew part of the story and they were kind of talking but they started having "accidents" all over the place or they began to commit "suicide." I do believe that if your philosophy is to win no matter the cost, murder is no big deal, it's all in a days work. Another thing, it would be easy enough to do with resources available. They probably no more about who is leaking the info than we do. I hope nothing happens to Madsen and his sources. I hope that they are safe. It seems that sometimes hiding in plain sight is the surest way to keep safe.

2. Definitely...
Before I went to bed last night, when I said my prayers I sent up a special one for the safety of Wayne Madsen and his sources. Anyone, or any group of individuals, brazen enough to steal an election are definitely dangerous. I hope and pray that Madsen is safe, because he is bringing forth some very seriously, some very dangerous and damaging, allegations that put him at risk.

19. We ALL should heed this lesson
If you're worrying about our democracy and speaking out about the possibility that our right to vote has been stolen from us, make sure your loved ones and friends know your concerns and what you're up to. This serves a dual purpose: 1) alerting others to our concerns; and, 2) ensuring that any sudden rash of "suicides" of DUers is noticed quickly and made public. If there are evil-doers out there, we cannot allow them to start murdering us.

20. Strength in numbers
I should add that there's strength in numbers. (Think of the many herd animals that travel in packs.) With thousands (or tens or hundreds of thousands) of us posting and protesting to protect our democracy, it's impossible for them to murder even a small fraction of us before we draw attention to their hit squads. Telling our friends and family to alert the media and DemocraticUnderground.com if we "kill ourselves" makes it harder for any evil-doers out there to do us evil.

3. Good points, but
he can protect himself and his sources by making it clear that the information has been revealed to other people who will release it if something happens to him. His sources are protected is they do a videotape of their information, which is copied and stored with different people. Again, if there are suspicious "deaths" followed by released information, the information gains credibility.

Admittedly, a hard way to gain credibility! Danny C didn't backup his information, and he died.

4. Exactly
That was precisely what I was getting at -- he needs to backup his information. He needs to secure it.

9. DANNY
Danny Caselaro (spelling?) was an investigative who found in a bathtub of bloody water in a west virginia hotel. All his secrets went with him. Wayne's name on this site is Danny's last name.

6. Thinking from the Rove side
of the equation is useful in trying to decide where to go next.

If any of this is true (and it hasn't been irrefutably proven yet)then the forces behind the fraud effort already know who the leakers are because they know who demanded more money.

Playing the game just for the sake of an exercise, I would imagine that the following would be in process or already done:

First, a dossier of the leakers would be prepared to discredit them if, in fact, their identies ever came out. I suspect more likely, huge amounts of money will be offered for silence first.

Second, flaws in the details of the story would be prepared for exploitation in order to discredit the entire story.

Third, Madsen will have to be painted as a self-serving fraud.

Fourth, plausible reasons for the $29.6M check will have to be created.

And, of course, records will have to be destroyed.

Of course, all this is tinfoil at the moment but being a big fan of John LeCarre', it's still a fun exercise.

7. Good, Thoughtful Analyis & Creative Thinking
Very good approach - you are putting yourself inside the "belly of the beast" and trying to figure out how it operates.

I have a few observations to make vs. your thesis. I agree with you that in cases like this publicity itself can shield you, and I would argue that Madsen himself is now protected (at least for the time being), since he has enough visibility so that there would be a tremendous outcry if something happened to him.

Furthermore, it would be counterproductive for George Walker Bushitler to arrange for something to happen to Madsen (even something cloaked as an "Oswald" hit, via a "lone, crazy, nut") since Madsen had already busted the story open, and taking him out would not reduce the momentum; the leakers would just find another venue.

I think the real rationale not for Madsen's sources not to go public this instant is that they don't have this thing nailed yet, and need secondary sources to come forth. These secondary sources must now be in fear of their lives, as George Walker Bushitler has probably already ordered that they be taken out as a pre-emptive measure.

Since these guys may suspect this is happening, it will encourage even more of them to start leaking. With luck, the leaks will become a flood which will wash away all political traces of the flesh-eating bacteria that is the Bushitler dynasty, and it's favorite son, the POS POTUS, the AWOL cowardly cokehead commander-in-thief, George Walker Bushitler.

Cheers!

10. Blown open... Let's examine that.
I would not say that he has blown this story open at all. It is common knowledge on most independent news sources, but you've not seen it on any of the major networks. It has not even been mentioned in passing. I really do not feel that there would be a "tremendous outcry" if something happens to him in the right way. There are ways to kill people and make it look totally natural and absent of foul play. Here on DU we know about Madsen, but how many people here even know common things about him without having to access it or look it up? Snuffing out Madsen and the leakers would not prove too much of a problem at all since virtually no one in the mainstream media -- save our man Keith Olbermann -- have even reported on this story. You're right though, they don't have it nailed yet, and when, historically, have you known a reporter or lawyer to come out before they've assembled their case fully? I'm not saying Wayne Madsen is not credible. I just saying that he has put himself in more danger by coming out in the way he has. I also want to clear something up. Who's really going to miss the guy if he has a heart-attack? The guy does not have to be killed with a shot to the temple or any other place. There are other means to dispatch people without it looking like foul play. There are drugs that mimic heart attacks if administered in too great a dose. They could make it look like he slashed his wrist... We could come out and say this if he were killed, but you know what? All they'd do is call us a bunch of conspiracy theory nut-jobs if we insisted there was foul play in his death.

or thousands of innocent civilians, at home and abroad, would not be beyond the pale for these evil do-ers. It's a fact.

12. The fate of the pyramid builders
Any documents he posts.

By the way, did any of you EVER really look closely at the supposedly fake Guard Memos?

I was never able to find a true type font that had the same flags and finals, but the fact that the font was not times roman and that the typed line has a wandering baseline was just yelled down.

I don't think we are going to get any witnesses. They would be injected with psychoactive drugs and dropped in a van in a Mall parking lot in a nest of Hustler magazines in their under ware or some such to be discredited a debauched babbling idiots that need to be hospitalized in a phsyc ward.

No what Madsen is hoping for is that someone will tell him where the tracks were left.

If someone rigs an election for a family like the Bush clan and does not want to suffer the fate of the builders of the pyramids, one leaves a bits of definative evidence where they would be almost impossible to find by accident, but with the proper coded entry will virtually burp out "this is how it was done". It is this "life insurance policy", that the source is talking to Madsen about giving up.

Btw, if I was Rove, I'd have people scream for Madsen and his sources to come forward so I could target them better.

I am sure that they haven't come forward yet because they still have work to do. I think you are right that identifying them only makes it easier for Rovians to take it to the next level.
