OKLAHOMA RESULTS ASTOUNDING : RED SHIFT IN OK
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 06:42 PM by scubed
I saw a post here about 57 Oklahoma counties in which Kerry LOST votes in the final tally relative to what was reported in Tulsa World on 11/3/04 , so I went & checked it out. I've compared the numbers: the article is right,.
Here are the links:
OK official tallies: http://www.state.ok.us/~elections/04gen.html
Tulsa World: go to message 7 at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=173x1047 (I can't get it to work as a direct link).
CNN http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004//pages/results/states/OK/P/00/county.000.html
Oklahoma Independent Media http://okimc.org/newswire.php?story_id=344I
There is also a thread in the OK section.

But, there's more. With 68.9% of the final votes reported in the Tulsa World, * leads Kerry 56.2% to 43.8%. The final split is 65.6% to 34.4%. Out of the final 31.1% of the vote reported later, 86.3% of those votes went to *. I find that a little hard to believe as well. It compares quite well to similar results in NC, except that there the percentages were switched: ~30% voted early, and * gained an unusually high percentage of the 70% who voted on election day.

Now, the real question, which I can't answer from here. How many total votes were RECORDED in these small counties? We know how many the state thinks were REPORTED. Were votes switched from * or were there ghost votes added after the counties reported?

CAN AN OKIE OR TWO OUT THERE PICK A COUNTY AND GET THE NUMBER OF VOTES CAST FOR KERRY AND FOR * AND THE NUMBER OF REGISTERED VOTERS. TRY TO LOOK AT THE ACTUAL POLL TAPES LIKE BEV DID IN FL. THIS MIGHT BE A SMOKING GUN!

Counties WITHOUT losses: Leflore, Mcintosh, Mayes, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Osage, Ottawa, Payne, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner. Anything else shows a net loss between the 11/3 results and the final tally.

PS This is my first DU post. My mom voted for *, and I would so much like to show her what he is really like. Please help! :hi:

1. I wondered about OK
when I heard they elected that idiot who was claiming there is a problem with rampant lesbianism in the schools.

5. If you look at the data reported' on 11/3 in Tulsa World, you"ll
be amazed at how many blue Okies there are in little rural counties who voted for Kerry! It cheered me up immensely to see that so many saw through *.

17. I don't understand....
why that is so nefarious? During deer season I often have rifles in my vehicle. That way I can hunt before and after work.

During mild weather I also have shotguns on Thursdays (Trap Night).

Now back to our topic....

22. why
because an argument occurs at the workplace, it is quite easy to go to your car and start blowing people away

There is a reason why the corporations don't want this, and it isn't because they are against guns

6. The Tulsa World used results from a ballot initiative from '02,
on cockfighting of all things, as the presidential results in the 11/3/04 print edition.

There was a thread on it yesterday.

Here's the thread:

Here's the post with the answer:

8. The poster joined Saturday and has 1 post.
I want more proof than this. How the fuck would you know where to look, this was 9/25/01, why would they go back over three years...oops.

Unless this was a pre-planned set up. I don't believe for one moment someone "accidentally" stumbled on to these #'s, nor do I believe they set out to look for a set that matched these, it makes no sense...

9. The poster linked to the state results.
Go to that link scroll down to the cockfighting results and compare them to the 11/3 Tulsa World result. They are identical.

You don't need to take the poster's word for it, it is all there.

11. WILL DU LISTEN TO THIS GUY ALREADY???
I checked the numbers myself. EVERY SINGLE COUNTY IS EXACTLY THE SAME except for two counties. The chance of that is impossible, so this must've been the data Tulsa used.

The bigger question to Tulsa is where did they get these numbers from? How did they get mixed up under a 2004 report? The whole thing is just really strange. But SpotBird is dead on, this is from a Cockfighting Amendment from 2002.

As has been posted in other threads, the link to the cockfighting pdf is here:

http://www.state.ok.us/~elections/02sq.pdf

All precincts except for Pittsburgh and Pottwatome.

Can't understand to save my life why people are still using the Tulsa numbers VS CNN and Ohio Numbers.

7. Dallas County, TX issues
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 07:08 PM by rainbow4321
As long as people are looking into specific counties...can someone explain how Dallas county residents were cool enough to elect a Hispanic Lesbian and yet JK lost the county by 2%??

19. Harris County, Texas
unofficial cumulative report posts the following numbers:

Straight Party, Vote For 1
Republican Party 52.98%
Democratic Party 46.54%
Libertarian Party 0.48%

President and Vice President, Vote For 1

Republican Party 54.76%
Democratic Party 44.55%
Libertarian Party 0.49%

Both sets of numbers come from the totals column. So tell me someone with more numbers sense than me, how do you get a 46% straight party total and only a 44% total votes cast for JK?

20. and i know this thread is dead
but shrubbie got an awfully large percentage of absentee votes, like almost twice what JK got - while all the other (early, election) percentages are closer.

Has anyone looked at these numbers?

10. Welcome to DU. I'm sorry about your mother.
I'm not from OK, but it sounds like you got a real nutcase elected to the Senate. Someone who obsesses about about teenage lesbians in highschool bathrooms and who thinks family values encompasses forced sterilization of underage girls. You have my sympathy.

You've definitely come to the right place if you want dirt on W.:hi:

12. I'm still trying to resurrect a copy of the 11/3 World, think my mom has
it but I need to drive up there to search. I'm in Wagoner & don't get the print edition (by choice)...from 40 to 25 years ago the World was a fairly left/centrist newspaper (I dated the daughter of its publisher in the 60s and back then the 'other' paper, the Tribune was the more "conservative" one.)

Meanwhile, has anyone actually SEEN the edition with these numbers? I'm hearing lots of claims but nothing evincable. Tomorrow I am going to go down to the Wagoner Co. election board and ask (nicely, Colonel Jessup) if they will let me do a manual recount. They probably won't, and I don't really think it would make much difference but what the hell, it's an exercise in Democracy, isn't it?

This is a small county, and I know some pretty influential people including the Chief of Police, the District Atty, and the Chief Federal Judge for Eastern Oklahoma (who is a friend and a very RW guy but not an asshole about it...he might be willing to be a witness)

13. Thanks to IAMREALITY
Thanks for clueing me in on the other post. He had posted it after I had started my analysis, and I never checked back. Thanks for telling me before I spent any more time looking at the numbers.

I am very curious about mr K8Conant: how did he know to scroll over hundreds of pages of pdfs to find the matching set, and how did TW lift the wrong numbers from a pdf file - not a data file (can be done, but less likely)? Maybe K8Conant knows more than he is telling us. Is this a rovian herring, or simple incompetence on the part of TW, or, maybe someone didn't want to report real numbers until they had massauged them enough? I can get very tin hat about now. I'd love to know where TW got those numbers!

15. SORRY THIS THREAD IS OFFICIALLY DEAD
THE DATA IN THE TULSA WORLD WAS APPARENTLY FROM A 2001 COCKFIGHTING BALLOT QUESTION. IT MATCHES ALMOST EXACTLY. SO WE CANNOT BELIEVE THE RESULTS IN THE TULSA WORLD. I GOT A PDF OF THE 11/3/04 PAPER. THIS THREAD IS OVER.

16. another possibility
Maybe they changed the website numbers on the cock-fighting referendum to reflect what the paper printed for the presidential election results (after they realized what had happened). That seems a lot more likely to me than the newspaper making that kind of an error.
