this is from the same newspaper in Canton Ohio that reported on people showing up at the right polling place but not having their votes count because they didn't stand in line at the correct precinct table.

On Tuesday, the Stark County Board of Elections tossed out 691 more ballots cast in the Nov. 2 election. The bulk were cast by people who weren’t registered to vote — a requirement under Ohio law.

Board Director Jeff Matthews said a $3,640 check will be returned to the National Voting Rights Institute. The group sent the check on behalf of presidential candidates Michael Badnarik and David Cobb to pay for a hand recount of the ballots cast Nov. 2.
Matthews said the request wasn’t filed timely. Mullane said typically a candidate doesn’t ask for a recount until results are certified.
---Mullane is the Board Deputy Director
I'm going to forward this story to Cobb/Badnarik and the National Voting Rights Institute.
We have conflicting statements here as far as I can tell. Board Director says the recount request wasn't filed timely, Deputy says typically candidates don't ask for recount until results are certified (which they aren't yet)
So was Cobb/Badnarik too early? too late?
why all the stonewalling?
ugh
