Reason I ask..
Last night he reported, as the letter from the Ohio Dem party indicated, that Kerry/Edwards would be "joining" the Ohio recount effort. But then in his blog last night, Keith states that in an updated letter, Kerry/Edwards clarified that they would simply be "participating", *if* a recount happens, and that the participation would involve providing recount witnesses.
I've always assumed (maybe incorrectly) that Keith has had some interesting contact with Kerry/Edwards. But now I wonder if that's not the case, especially since he hasn't been able to confirm Kerry/Edwards involvement, and to what degree, before he does his show.
I worry that the way things are going, with the recount being requested by the Glibs, that there stands a chance this will be decided in the courts. Some Repub. judge might rule that every attempt *was* made to count the votes, and that a recount would not likely change the results of the election in favor of the Glibs (duh, obviously, since they got less than 1% of the vote.)
If Kerry/Edwards were the driving force, and they put some of that $$$millions$$$ set aside for this purpose, behind a recount effort (meaning Kerry/Edwards ASK FOR THE RECOUNT), then we'd stand a better chance because who better than Kerry/Edwards to claim that there is a chance a recount might favor them? As it stands now, they're just sorta hanging out on the corner.. watching what the Glibs do and maybe joining in, and maybe not.
If the Glibs ask for it, someone could argue that the request is frivolous - and a waste of resources (time/money).
If Kerry/Edwards asks - then they have a leg to stand on, especially in a court of law - and in the court of public opinion.
