wrong directions. Ate stale key lime pie that was probably poisoned. Got the run around two or three times. Were cursed at under someone's breath, two or three times. Encountered amazingly empty trash cans everywhere they went. Got slipped a note by a local old coot who wasn't afraid to talk but who was then hauled off by his nephew and given his medication. They waited around an office for a local officialt to show up... who was 2 hours late and who apologize profusely. He couldn't help them anyway. They left. Their cell phones mysteriously stopped working. Their car broke down. They went back to the hotel. They found their rooms made up when they asked them not to be. All their papers seemed to be looked through. The phone in their room made funny noises. They hit the local coffee shop. The waitress seemed really nervous and was eyeballed by her leery boss.

27. This if fucking hilarious
Rented a car. Were given wrong directions.
- gee that's never happened before

Ate stale key lime pie that was probably poisoned.
- So are they dead?

Got the run around two or three times.
- what?

Were cursed at under someone's breath, two or three times.
- I bet when they heard people laughing, they were sure they were laughing at them...

Encountered amazingly empty trash cans everywhere they went.
- definitely evidence of a conspiracy

Got slipped a note by a local old coot who wasn't afraid to talk but who was then hauled off by his nephew and given his medication.
- so what did the note say?

They waited around an office for a local officialt to show up... who was 2 hours late and who apologize profusely.
- why did he apologize if he was part of the conspiracy? Why did he show up at all?

He couldn't help them anyway. They left. Their cell phones mysteriously stopped working.
- were they in range? DOes someone have an EMP device on them?

Their car broke down.
- must have been tampered with

They went back to the hotel. They found their rooms made up when they asked them not to be.
- did they put the tag on the door? Is it possble the clerk didn't tell the right maid?

All their papers seemed to be looked through.
- was anything missing?

The phone in their room made funny noises.
- definitely evidence of a conspiracy

They hit the local coffee shop. The waitress seemed really nervous and was eyeballed by her leery boss.
- "Pickup Dingy!"

6. Thom Hartmann Interview
Bev's interview with Thom Hartmann today on his show is now on archive:

She didn't say much more about the goings on in Volusia than her report yesterday. She said they were currently off to another county in Florida to get their records -- she wouldn't name it over the air because she didn't want to alert somebody.

As a skeptic, I have to say that she sounded sensible and polished. She also warned against those of us who might be hoping that all of this might somehow turn over the election; their goal is to establish evidence of fraud, and this may take a while, and it may not do much in terms of helping flip votes.

And with that, I finish my first post on DU.

12. I'll second that!
Much better 1st post than mine. :)

IIRC, I jumped into the middle of a Green / Dem flame war over Nader's roll in the 2000 election. I asked if there was a "Greenunderground" site that "those people" could go to.

I was then beaten senseless about the head and neck with a copy of the site rules by people from both sides. :scared:

11. Overturning the election does seem only a dream, but we can weaken bush
a lot if fraud is proven. He needs to be reigned in--I think he's going to go medieval in his second term.

If the fraud proves to be systemic, maybe it could even lead to bush resigning in disgrace. The repugs would be so discredited, any Dem would be sure to win in 2008.

Welcome to DU!

the recount in Ohio should go ahead, it will be manual, it should be well observed. If there was any tampering in counting machines that will emerge through the count, and could well change the election. If only the non paper trail machines were involved then it's another story but if there was fraud of the sort alleged here quite frequently there is every reason for believing that the election could change.

Bev, however, does provide no more information that she posted yesterday evening except to say that Volusia County had been put on notice to keep under seal all precinct tapes, cartridges, etc., and that the tapes in question were the official record from the voting machines complete with signatures.

I would like to know if she asked them under what authority were they destroying the precinct tapes. This seems illegal to be destroying public records!

14. Agree - The message is prove the fraud, weaken the...
Chimp's mandate, change the system, hopefully preserve SOME form of a real vote (as opposed to a sham "e-lection" on the black boxes.)

NOT overturn the election.

20. Bottom line: nothing new
The question was a good one.

And the fact that there's nothing new to report today is, to me, odd. The report we got yesterday, more than 24 hours ago, implied that a meeting would be held this morning to discuss strategy, including a move to contest the vote. What was the outcome? The post described what sounded like clearly illegal and suspicious activity. Is this not the case? If it is the case, why aren't people being hauled off to jail? Is the FBI on the scene? If it is what we think, isn't it a federal crime? Isn't there a deadline in Florida we have to worry about now that the vote is certified?

I guess I'm a little frustrated because I want to see fraud headlines every time I fire up DU and when something comes along that seems like it could be the straw that breaks the camels back....I want to see dead camel. Instead I see a live camel frolicking around and going about its business.

Same with the NY Senate race. Recount that does not match the election night results. Tampering. Should be investigations and headlines...instead: Live camel.

And the fact that there's nothing new to report today is, to me, odd.

You're kind of new here, or you would have seen, over the past 2+ years, that Bev and her team work very deliberately, and don't live to report back to DU everything they're doing (this is a PUBLIC message board): sometimes because it wouldn't be prudent to show their hand, sometimes because they're finally getting some sleep, sometimes because they're too darned busy doing the HARD WORK, while the rest of us are online.

The report we got yesterday, more than 24 hours ago, implied that a meeting would be held this morning to discuss strategy, including a move to contest the vote. What was the outcome? The post described what sounded like clearly illegal and suspicious activity.

Yep, obviously. But this would be illegal and suspicious activity involving PUBLIC OFFICIALS, and that's not going to be blasted across the world as "truth", until at least a FEW other people, who are also PUBLIC OFFICIALS WHO DON'T WANT TO LOSE THEIR JOBS, have vetted some of what is being accused.

Is this not the case? If it is the case, why aren't people being hauled off to jail? Is the FBI on the scene? If it is what we think, isn't it a federal crime?

This is not a one-hour episode of "Law & Order", nor an episode of some trashy "reality teevee" that follows some sort of script, where we can all go take 'potty breaks' during the commercials, and within an hour or 24 KNOW BEYOND A DOUBT who did what to whom, and everybody can drink the same kool-aid and go to be "knowing" stuff.

Isn't there a deadline in Florida we have to worry about now that the vote is certified?

The BBV Team isn't so much concerned about what's getting certified, and when, as they are about saving our Democracy from the mafia that is running the country. So any "deadline" isn't going to mean too much, in the long run. But, yes, they are out there IN THE REAL WORLD, WORKING IN REAL TIME, where only so much can be done in one day, and they have to try to rescue as many important pieces of paper as a small team can do before said pieces of paper end up in the shredder.

I guess I'm a little frustrated because I want to see fraud headlines every time I fire up DU and when something comes along that seems like it could be the straw that breaks the camels back....I want to see dead camel. Instead I see a live camel frolicking around and going about its business.

Wouldn't we all?? But how many of us posting here are out there putting the shoe leather to the pavement to get it done?

Same with the NY Senate race. Recount that does not match the election night results. Tampering. Should be investigations and headlines...instead: Live camel.

"Should be investigations and headlines" is the whole point of saving our Democracy. Investigations aren't forthcoming because the most powerful and ruthless totalitarians in the Industrialized World are incredibly well financed, and have bought off enough people in key positions to make investigations out of the question. So....we have THREE PEOPLE ON THE GROUND (and a team or two of photographers) who are trying to take on the Nazi Government of the former United States.
As for headlines; those who WOULD be providing "headlines" are some of those "key positions who make investigations out of the question". There is MAJOR complicity with the bush mafia and the media. They are all in bed together.
