Can anybody SUE the US government for a shitty election?
Seems to me that gross incompetance has been aptly demonstrated, and that the more I read, the more obvious it becomes that malice and forethought went into this.

Obviously it can't be a political party that brings the suit, but perhaps a watchdog group?

1. The US Government Didn't Run the Election
that was done by state and local governments.

And some lawsuits are definitely in order. For one thing, equal protection violations for residents of precincts who got shortchanged on the number of voting machines.

4. Right, but isn't the FEC an oversight body?
On the grand scope of crappy machines, lost ballots, voter intimidation and disenfranchisement....this is gross negligence and incompetance at best, and people's lives are in the balance.

8. I'm Familiar with Their Activities
in overseeing campaigns and campaign finances.

I've never heard of the FEC monitoring or assuming responsibility for the management of local election operations. It could be part of their mandate, I don't know. Just never heard of it.

12. Hmmm. Where to begin?
Someone mentioned a violation of civil rights as a basis.

If a state violates civil rights, who in DC gets involved?

Even if it doesn't turn the election over, it's gonna take something like this to unfuck the election process in this nation.

13. When State and Local Governments Violate Constitutional Rights
lawsuits are sometimes filed. I believe it would be in the federal court system. That would be the same process to use.

6. our best bet
for me -- i want to see them frog-marched out of town.

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

but if that fails, there's at least this.

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
