IVCS (Interactive voter choice system)

All I google has been longwinded, and in bureaucratese.
Idea seems great but precise details are elusive due to the writing style so far.

Also- is it now just a general idea?

- pls put in wiki

- get a name folks can remember

Good luck and thank you. You may have a great thing underway.

1. interesting
No I had never even heard of IVCS before. I just googled it and was looking through that first hit, for reinventdemocracy dot net.
It seems pretty interesting and it looks they have a patent for some kind of system there.

But its pretty complicated, like you said. And I really don't understand it.

4. U.S. electoral system is more complicated!
I agree that the IVCS might look complicated at first glance, but it is a far less complicated than the current U.S. electoral system.

And what IVCS tools do, which the current system does not do, is give the U.S. electorate, rather than special interests, the power to build voting blocs and electoral coalitions that determine who runs for office, who gets elected, and what laws are passed.

Here are two links that might help explain IVCS better:

1. The first is written by yours truly describing the genesis of IVCS: 2012: The Game Changing Implications of the Interactive Voter Choice System (IVCS).

2. The second is written by Joseph M. Firestone describing a hypothetical case of how IVCS might be used in a senate race: How U.S. Voters Can Wrest Control of Elections from Special Interests: Electing Elizabeth Warren in the 2012 Massachusetts Senate Race.

As I said, nothing is more complicated than the way the two major parties have manipulated laws and processes governing campaign financing, districting, and elections. IVCS is a far less complicated platform for overcoming these laws, IMNSHO. Let me know what you think.

6. No it's not. You just BUY whatever you want and can afford! Like shopping! That's the problem.
I'm intrigued by this IVCS idea, but I'm curious why it's necessary to patent it.

Using social networking raises a few other concerns:

1. Is there a lack of privacy? This may be necessary to form voting blocs, but some might avoid it for that reason.
2. How do you attract non-members to candidates favored by members? Won't this still take money, which is the root of the corruption of the current political class?

I'm too tired to think of more and I don't want to dampen anyone's enthusiasm. :)
This could be a great idea.

Still need to fix the black-box e-vote counting problem though!

5. Not a black box voting machine.
IVCS does not play any role in casting or counting votes in any official election.

3. What's in a name?
Thanks for the feedback.

Can you think of another name that's more easily remembered?

By the way, IVCS is the name of the patent.

Have you looked at the website that is being developed around IVCS?

It's reinventdemocracy.net.

What do you think of the bullets describing what folks can do at the site?

Any improvements of the bullets and the description would be most appreciated.
