ROLLING STONE: IT'S ALREADY STOLEN

Investigation by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast released today

Don’t worry about Mickey Mouse or ACORN stealing the election. According to an investigative report out today in Rolling Stone magazine, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast, after a year-long investigation, reveal a systematic program of "GOP vote tampering" on a massive scale.

- Republican Secretaries of State of swing-state Colorado have quietly purged one in six names from their voter rolls.

Over several months, the GOP politicos in Colorado stonewalled every attempt by Rolling Stone to get an answer to the massive purge - ten times the average state's rate of removal.

- While Obama dreams of riding to the White House on a wave of new voters, more then 2.7 million have had their registrations REJECTED under new procedures signed into law by George Bush.

Kennedy, a voting rights lawyer, charges this is a resurgence of 'Jim Crow' tactics to wrongly block Black and Hispanic voters.

- A fired US prosecutor levels new charges - accusing leaders of his own party, Republicans, with criminal acts in an attempt to block legal voters as "fraudulent."

- Digging through government records, the Kennedy-Palast team discovered that, in 2004, a GOP scheme called "caging” ultimately took away the rights of 1.1 million voters. The Rolling Stone duo predict that, this November 4, it will be far worse.

There's more:

- Since the last presidential race, "States used dubious 'list management' rules to scrub at least 10 million voters from their rolls."

Among those was Paul Maez of Las Vegas, New Mexico - a victim of an unreported but devastating purge of voters in that state that left as many as one in nine Democrats without a vote. For Maez, the state's purging his registration was particularly shocking - he's the county elections supervisor.

The Kennedy-Palast revelations go far beyond the sum of questionably purged voters recently reported by the New York Times.

"Republican operatives - the party's elite commandos of bare-knuckle politics," report Kennedy and Palast, under the cover of fighting fraudulent voting, are "systematically disenfranchis Democrats."

The investigators level a deadly serious charge:

"If Democrats are to win the 2008 election, they must not simply beat McCain at the polls - they must beat him by a margin that exceeds the level of GOP vote tampering."

Block the Vote by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. & Greg Palast in the current issue (#1064) of Rolling Stone. Media enquiries - Dave Falkenstein, Sunshine Sachs & Assoc, via interviews@gregpalast.com.

Note - Kennedy and Palast are releasing, simultaneously with the Rolling Stone investigative report what they call, the vote-theft 'antidote': a 24-page full-color comic book, Steal Back Your Vote, which can be downloaded or obtained in print from their non-partisan website, StealBackYourVote.org

because if Barack DOES lose the election at this point in time-we will be out in the streets. I think this will be the tipping point.

5. It makes me think Palast wants it stolen so he can say I told you so!
Normally I love Palast but saying this crap will make some people not go and vote and say
"see my vote doesn't count." Is he consciously or unconsciouly trying to turn his point into a a reality. Is it for his own ego? I think it's disgusting. Why not say "hey vote in huge numbers and make it hard for the election to be stolen." We did get back in power in 2006 because of massive turnouts. We need him to be far more uplifting. Why do we always have to fight everyone in order to win?

7. A more thought out response follows...... your viewpoint seems to be fairly common....
It is alarming what Greg is saying and I hope everybody is alarmed.

This is a warning.

It is one which is being delivered as clearly as it possibly can by two of the smartest people in the room and one of the best magazines in the world.

Somewhat shrilly perhaps - but it needs to be. And hopefully THIS TIME the election integrity movement has finally got the ear of the US Public. Because this is a message that needs to be heard.

ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT ELECTION STEALING IS NOT AN ISSUE THIS ELECTION BECAUSE THE PUBLIC WILL IS CERTAIN TO OVERCOME ANY THEFT EFFORT IS A FOOL

THIS MESSAGE IS LOUD BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE LOUD
MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN YELLING FOR YEARS
AT LEAST 4 ELECTIONS 2000-2002-2004HAVE ALREADY BEEN STOLEN
STEALING ELECTIONS IS NOT DIFFICULT IT HAS HAPPENED

Even leaving aside electronic vote fraud the last 2 presidential elections were stolen by Secretaries of States and corrupt disgraceful courts and partisan officials.

..... and still we have the reaction of several former posters above. Several of them are actually known disrupters. They do not usually emerge into the light of this forum however.

And then there is electronic democracy. THERE IS NO WAY TO VERIFY A US ELECTION..... IPSO FACTO THE US IS NOT A DEMOCRACY?

Probably

The 2000 Election was hacked electronically...

The machines used to count the 2002 election were completely hackable - both the optical scans and the touchscreens - see the movie

The Media and Exit Pollsters are preparing to lie to you...
http://usacoup.scoop.co.nz/?p=664

" YORK - Barack Obama’s tendency through the Democratic primaries to perform better in exit polls than he actually does at the ballot box has some media organizations nervous heading into Election Night.

Television networks want to avoid having their performance become an issue for the third straight presidential election. Their political experts hope that experience gained during the primaries will help things run smoothly Nov. 4.

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and The Associated Press pool resources to conduct exit polls in select precincts, hoping to glean information about why people vote the way they do and to help predict a winner or loser. A combination of actual vote counts and exit polls is generally used to “call” a state for one candidate or another.

Exit polls frequently overstated Obama’s vote during the primaries by as much as 3 percentage points."

Yes it is alarming.

Very.

9. I don't see much thought in this response

I see lots of assertions, some smears, and lots of links. I've seen these things before. You have never been able to hold your own in a substantive discussion.

Your continued reliance on exit poll crap puts you in league with TruthIsAll (who actually is a known disruptor and has the tombstone to prove it -- several tombstones, really). I deeply resent your contribution to the infiltration of the U.S. progressive movement by pseudoscience.

I'm not convinced that anyone seriously believes that Kerry won Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania by double digits, or New York by 31 points (although, with TruthIsAll, one can never tell). Care to make that case?

ETA: I assume you know that Obama generally did better in the official primary returns than in pre-election polls. Can you explain why you withheld that information? Are exit polls the only thing you believe at all?

10. Simply repeating an irrelevant assertion does not make it meaningful OTOH.
For you to call TIA a disruptor is really outrageous.

TIA's one failure was an inability to keep his tongue in the face of extreme provocation from you and your ilk.

"I deeply resent your contribution to the infiltration of the U.S. progressive movement by pseudoscience."

I deeply resent your ongoing presence and interference in a progressive community noting your complete absence of any progressive thought or understanding.

For you to climb up on a horse and take potshots at the ethics of Greg Palast and RFK - who are actually doing something to protect democracy - is sad and absurd. Your conduct in this forum has been and remains universally unethical.

I pity you.

And I pity your family even more.
