What's Our Response If They Steal Another One?

Is anyone making any plans, providing leadership?

After 2004 I was in shock for two days, waiting for someone to issue
the call to hit the streets. Nobody did. We were waiting on Kerry
I guess.

What's the plan this year?

1. If they did that again this time, it would be so blatant,
that there is no way the Obama campaign would accept it, nor the American people. I don't think there is any choice but to take our lead from Obama.

6. They don't care if it is blatant or not, all they care about is tht it happens

They control the media, ergo, the reality is that since most people would be waiting for the Media to tell them something is wrong, not much will happen.

We should have been in the streets when Wellstone and his crew, staff and family members were assassinated - a very well maintained plane, two pilots, not one at the controls, average late fall weather, and then POOF, plane cannot find airport, nor can pilots use the radio to make any type of report to the control towers.

But we were told that it was due to this, then that and then a third thing.

And we should have been in the streets when Kerry conceded less than twenty four hours of a very botched situation in Ohio. People prevented from voting, voting tallies that were wrong, long lines due to inadequate numbers of machines available, etc.

Then you have Blackwell being the Republican
Chairman in Ohio also being the Ohio Secretray of State - and on his word, the state of Ohio was awarded to Bush, not Kerry. No time to examine this statement - just its relay to Andy Card, who relayed to Bush, who of course accepted that pronouncement, and then WHAM! Andy Card announces the "win" on TV and radio.

No exmination by the press. And thus we had Bush for another four years.

It will be the same with Stolen Election Number Three.

2. Well if history is any indicator
It'll be a protest of some sort and then everybody will move on and forget about it.

3. It's up to the people in the states..
that are affected. It is their votes, and their state government.

but I take hope in the polls, and that the people (hopefully) won't be fooled again.

Edited for traditional stupid typo.

7. The Bastille should be stormed
but too many people will just change channels to find the next episode of 'Dancing With The Stars' or 'American Idol'. If the Economy totally explodes/implodes that may be the impetus for genuine wakeup and action. If people literally cannot get their money out of their bank, or if breadlines start forming --- then perhaps there will be some action by the citizenry.

8. I'm really getting fu**ing tired of these "stealing" topics...
that keep cropping up. This election will not be stolen. Obama will win in a landslide.

9. That's what they said about Kerry. And when the election was stolen, he caved.
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 12:35 PM by petgoat
I have no reason to think Obama won't cave too.

Kerry at least promised to count all the votes, specifically
promising that the two million black votes that are lost every
election will be counted, before he completely caved in.

Obama has never said boo about seeing that the election is fair.

If we're going to do something, we need to start planning now.
For instance, take Times Square, and don't give it back. Take
Grant Park, and don't give it back. Tens of thousands clog subway
platforms in morning rush hours (heading to Times Square of course).
If the yuppies are late to work, too bad.

If we can't do that in the face of the end of democracy, we're
totally screwed.

Nothing to see here, comrade. Move along, move along.

15. Here's how to insure there's diminished/no reaction if stolen elections happen:
Keep on talking about suppression, purges, etc.

Because, even if the local sheriff jails you for the entire election day, you've got a claim for money damages but nothing's going to add your vote to the mix.

Talking suppression = cheating "fair and square" (if there is such a thing)

but those who are likely to be suppressed, don't show up in the polls anyway because they either have cell phones only, or have learned not to answer the phone (because they're in collections, foreclosure, etc.)

so, suppression, while a real problem and potential problem, does NOT explain anomalous election results very much, if at all.

16. if they try to say mcsame won, we will all know.
although i have a great deal of faith that the obama campaign will be out in front, and will not cave, we will not wait. we will be in the streets. all we need is a declaration of anything but an obama landslide, because that is what is going to happen.

17. That is what I have been wondering.
It seems clear that they will try to do it. If they do, I for one am willing to take to the streets. We cannot allow that to stand. The country is in too severe a crisis to endure 4 more years of the same policies.
