Will Your Vote Count?

Consent Of The Governed
Featuring information you need to know before you consent...

Friday, January 4, 2008

As we begin the 2008 election cycle with primaries and caucuses, we need to know that our voting system has some integrity. Some news reports have been disconcerting.

SNIP...Since at least 1988, the ballots in 49 states and half of New Hampshire are hidden from the people
and counted in secret by computers. This procedure violates two Supreme Court rulings. NCEL was filed in all 50 states to remedy this freedom threatening problem.

Read the National Clean Elections Lawsuit. NCEL was filed to restore hand-marked, hand counted paper ballots that never leave the sight or custody of the people until the ballots are counted and the results posted in each neighborhood polling place. This means machine-free, computer-free counts in our elections once again.

All 50 states are being sued to prevent the use of computerized voting systems during the 2008 primary and general elections and beyond. The lawsuit seeks to halt the use of machine-based voting systems and vote counting procedures that hide the ballots and the counting of votes from the People.

or map of fraud and reforms across the nation? I see pieces of the quilt but not the whole picture. Is there more e-voting or less? More security or less? More vote suppression or less? Where is it being overturned, where challenged, where growing? Do the Dem campaigners even have such a sweeping overview or
are they transfixed by the overriding earning of poll numbers?

It has been tried, to get people from all regions to contribute what is happening. That response varies just as widely. There still should be ways to summarize the accomplishments of fraud and reform and the kind of visual map we face which can be overlaid on the electoral map. It might do some good for the national confrontation to get the whole hidden war picture out there. Many states seem oblivious to the skirmishes and tactics elsewhere, some sewn up by fraud, others naively blind to its influence and ever intrusive threat- even if Dem leaders are doing scattered things in those regions.

We have large speculative maps of electoral statistics toward building a victory and yet the strategy of national push backs against pervasive GOP fraud is like listening to distant cannon fire and wondering how the battle is really progressing. So much that the NYT dares call reform efforts, "fringe" when for years they have had the suppressed story, the unexamined picture and the rational facts and responses that the august paper will make a pretense of discovering and legitimizing- without lifting a finger to help organize against the blatant national high crime.
