Can long lines at polling places be considered as a poll tax?
If you have to choose between voting and getting your pay docked, seems to me that this would be a poll tax of sorts. What are our legal grounds to use this to contest elections? Land Shark? Anyone?

1. Do you have early voting?
If so, I don't think you have a challenge.

3. I think you're out of luck
Election officials decide on number of machines by number of registered voters.

We had a precinct that had one person vote. Five people were required per precinct to work all day so that vote cost 550$ not even counting the 3000$ machine.

6. It is what happens here
I am a commissioner, I get to check. If more of our members would get involved, I think we would be better off.

4. Legal grounds? None.
Having your pay docked is not the problem of your local election official, nor should it be.

Ask your employee what the company policy is for voting. Many companies have policies to deal with election day.

Personally, I think polls should be open until 10:00 pm

If voting will cause you to have your pay docked, then vote early if it is offered or send in a absentee ballot.
