Working Assets is not careful. Anyone have a contact there?
Remember that recently they sent out an email encouraging people to vote early?

Well, today they sent out an email urging everyone to register by Oct 23rd. That is the absolute LAST MINUTE and they should have used an earlier date -- like the 20th or something because most people procrastinate.

Does anyone know Will Easton or have a contact in that Org? They seriously need to be more careful with their advisories.

1. Clarification: I have an email addy but it would be better to get
a closer contact or for SOMEONE closer to them to talk to them.

2. Umm...what's wrong with them telling people to register by the last day?
and doing it 10 days in advance? I'm not sure I get why you're upset about this.

3. I'm not upset. And, you have to register 15 days in advance.

The point is, if you're going to work with the public the way WA does, you have to take into account how people think, prioritize and do.

In this case, it would have been preferable to stick an earlier date in people's heads instead of the very last day that they can register.

5. Thanks, rumpel. I'm actually a monthly contributor to WA
so I've no beef with them and admire their effort and the time they put in.

If no one replies to my email, I can can the office and try to be diplomatic. :)

so far that is..

Yup, disappointing with WA, isn't it - they have put so much effort inn general - but I really hope they have to stop pushing for this.
It is false assurances.

Now there is movement to contact the city counsel in LA

Perhaps other counties will have to do the same - or is there already?

I'll be back later on DU - have to run some "errands" - which is in fact "real errands" - not "voting" as WA said

8. What if people forget to register by the 20th and
think they're too late -- but they would still have three days left and might not know it.
So that could backfire.

It's hard to know the best way to motivate people on something like this, but I wouldn't try changing the date.
